How to Hire a Chemist
Before you can hire a Chemist in Schedule 1, you first need to complete the “Wretched Hive of Scum and Villainy” quest, which introduces you to the warehouse. During the quest, you’ll eventually meet Manny, the fixer at the warehouse. He’s the one who lets you hire workers.
To start hiring, visit Manny after 6 PM and select “I want to hire employees.” You’ll need to pay a one-time sign-on fee for each worker, plus a daily wage. Once hired, you can assign employees to the warehouse or any other property you own in the game.
How to Assign a Chemist to a Mixer and Start Work
Once you’ve hired your first Chemist in Schedule 1, you’ll get the Management Clipboard. Keep it handy, stand near your worker, then press 9 on your keyboard followed by E to open their assignment menu.
From there, you’ll need to assign them a bed first. After that, you can set them up with specific tasks.
- Chemists can work at chemistry sets and lab ovens. You’ll need to choose a recipe for them to make.
- If they’re using a lab oven, you’ll also need to pick a final output rack where the finished product will go.
If a Chemist ever stops working, just reopen the Assignment Menu and reset their recipe to get them back on track.
To pay your workers, just interact with the briefcase at the end of their beds and add the required money. It’s a good idea to pay them a few days in advance this way, you’ll have less to worry about each day.
