The Old Citadel is one of the explorable locations in Gothic 1 Remake, which hides loot, dangerous enemies and valuable treasures. Among the ruins of the Old Citadel lies a locked chest at the top of the tower. This guide shows exactly where the Old Citadel is located, how to get to the chest and the lockpick combination to unlock the chest.
Old Citadel Location
Make your way to the marked area shown on the map in the above image which is south of Old Camp and nearby the Orc Town, beware of the creature Razor that patrols the area.
Chest Location
Head through the ruins into the interior section of the Old Citadel. Go through the arch to the far end of the Old Citadel and you’ll reach a tower. Climb up all the way to the top of the tower and you’ll find the chest located at the top.
Chest Lockpick Combination
The chest however is locked and you need to lockpick the chest to unlock it and collect the loot, follow the steps given below to unlock the chest –
- Move the 3rd plate to the right 5 times.
- Then move the 4th plate to the right 5 times.
- Select and move the 2nd plate to the right 4 times.
- Now move the 5th plate to the left 5 times.
- Move the 3rd plate to the right 4 times.
- Then move the 2nd plate to the right 5 times.
- Move the 1st plate to the right 3 times.
- Then move the 6th plate to the right 3 times.
- Finally move the 3rd plate to the right 2 times.
Following the above combination will unlock the chest and you can collect the following loot – Essence of Spirit, Iron wood, Essence of Magic Energy and Lockpick.
