Fossilized Fire Opal Location in Monster Hunter Wilds
Players can start collecting Fossilized Opal right from the beginning of their journey, as it can be found in several spots across the Windward Plains. To gather this item, players need to locate and interact with Exquisite Fossils scattered throughout the region. The quickest way to reach these fossils is simple: hop on your mount, open the map, and mark the Exquisite Fossil location. Your mount will automatically plot the fastest route and take you there.
As players progress past the Scarlet Forest and into the Oilwell Basin, they’ll come across even more Exquisite Fossil sites. These, however, have a chance of dropping the rarer Fossilized Fire Opal. Since these fossils can be trickier to spot on the map, the best method is to open the map, go to the Resources tab, and scroll down until you find Exquisite Fossil. From there, moving left or right will highlight the locations of these resources. Simply mark the spot, and your mount will guide you straight to it.
The Exquisite Fossil near the waterfall in Area 13 always yields a Fossilized Fire Opal, making it a reliable spot for gathering this rare item. Since special items respawn every 15 minutes, players can use this location to steadily farm a decent supply of Fossilized Fire Opal over time. Additionally, these special items can also be found in Areas 14 and 15 of the Windward Plains. How to use Fossilized Fire Opal in Monster Hunter Wilds
Fossilized Fire Opal can be exchanged with Ren in The Slid, The Keeper’s Vigil within Wyveria. Still, the player won’t be able to access this zone or Ren unless they have finished the main quest within Chapter 3-1: The Faithful Keepers. Ren provides exchanges for Eastern Honey and Vespoid Shell in return for Fossilized Fire Opal. Eastern Honey is a precious food item that increases the quantity of health regained from recovery, which is particularly beneficial when preparing for fights against difficult monsters.
