MH Wilds – Dual Blades Build Guide

Dual Blades in Monster Hunter Wilds are perfect for fast, aggressive playstyles, offering rapid combos and high elemental damage. This guide covers the best builds to maximize your damage output, focusing on key skills like Marathon Runner and Razor Sharp. Whether you’re targeting raw or elemental damage, these builds will help you dominate any hunt.

An Overview Dual Blades in MH Wilds

Dual Blades in Monster Hunter Wilds are highly reliant on elemental damage. Without an elemental setup, especially against large monsters, your damage output will feel weak. It’s crucial to equip a counter element and enhance it using Decorations. Since Dual Blades rapidly drain stamina, you’ll need Decorations that reduce stamina consumption or improve recovery to maintain aggression. Additionally, like other builds, armor and weapon Decoration slots are limited, so you’ll need to carefully prioritize which buffs to keep for optimal performance.

Optimal Dual Blades Build Setup

Here’s a breakdown of the ideal Dual Blades build once it’s fully set up:

  • Weapon: Tiltkreise (Artian) – Dragon Jewel (3), Critical Jewel (3), Critical Jewel (2)
  • Head: G. Ebony Helm Beta (Guardian Ebony Odogaron Gear) – Destroyer Jewel (2)
  • Chest: Gore Mail Beta (Gore Magala Gear) – Chain Jewel (3), Sane Jewel (1)
  • Arms: G. Ebony Braces Beta (Guardian Ebony Odogaron Gear) – Refresh Jewel (2), Sane Jewel (1)
  • Waist: Arkvulcan Coil Beta – Sprinter Jewel (1) x2
  • Legs: Gore Greaves Beta (Gore Magala Gear) – Tenderizer Jewel (3), Protection Jewel (1), Sprinter Jewel (1)
  • Talisman: Exploiter Charm 2

Weapon Choice

Artian Dual Blades are ideal due to their versatility with multiple elements and three Level Three Jewel slots. This allows you to customize the weapon’s element with matching Decorations for increased damage. For example, slotting a Fire Decoration into a Fire-based Artian Dual Blade will significantly boost Fire damage.

If Artian isn’t available, the Hungerklauen (Gore Magala Dual Blades) are a strong alternative. They come with a Dragon element, making them effective in various encounters, including against Arkveld and Gore Magala.

Armor and Decoration Setup

Head: The Guardian Ebony Odogaron Helm is essential for its Level Two Burst skill and Jewel slot. Adding a Destroyer Jewel increases damage to monster parts, making up for the Dual Blades’ weakness in part-breaking.

Chest: Gore Magala armor is critical for triggering the Gore Magala’s Tyranny set bonus. Slot a Chain Jewel (Level 3) for a Level One Burst and a Sane Jewel (Level 1) for an Antivirus buff—both essential for maximizing damage output.

Arms: Guardian Ebony Odogaron Braces provide Burst Level One. Attach a Refresh Jewel for the Stamina Surge buff, which speeds up stamina recovery. A second Sane Jewel increases the Antivirus level.

Waist: Arkvulcan Coil Beta comes with Level Two Weakness Exploit, boosting damage against weak points. Equip two Sprinter Jewels for the Marathon Runner buff, reducing stamina drain during sustained attacks—crucial for Dual Blades’ fast-paced playstyle.

Legs: Gore Magala Greaves provide Antivirus Level One and complete the Gore Magala’s Tyranny set bonus. Equip a Tenderizer Jewel for Weakness Exploit, a Sprinter Jewel to max out Marathon Runner, and a Protection Jewel for a Divine Blessing buff.

Charm: Exploiter Charm II enhances Weakness Exploit, increasing damage to monster weak points.

Set Bonus and Buffs

The Gore Magala’s Tyranny set bonus grants the Black Eclipse 1 buff when two pieces are equipped. This causes Frenzy when fighting large monsters, but attacking aggressively cures it and activates a 10% Affinity boost. Combined with Antivirus, this provides an additional 15% Affinity boost.

Final Skill Setup

Once complete, your build will provide the following skills:

  • Critical Boost – Level 5
  • Dragon Attack – Level 5
  • Weakness Exploit – Level 5
  • Burst – Level 4
  • Marathon Runner – Level 3
  • Antivirus – Level 3

Mastering the Dual Blades Playstyle

Using this Dual Blades build is fairly straightforward since most buffs activate automatically. Dragon Attack and Burst will trigger as you strike the monster, while Weakness Exploit will increase damage when targeting weak spots.

However, you’ll need to manage the Antivirus buff by staying aggressive to clear the Frenzy debuff. Aggression is key with Dual Blades—hesitation will cost you significant damage potential.

Lastly, make sure you’re comfortable with the core mechanics of Dual Blades. Mastering the different modes and efficiently managing the Demon Gauge will help you maximize your damage output.
