After that, head southwest toward the desert, then go south through it until you reach an Oasis. Ibis is nearby, and talking to the people there will give you more details about where to find the Pyramid. From there, head north, but be prepared – it might take a while to get there.
This is also where you’ll first encounter Canniboxes – powerful treasure monsters that can quickly overwhelm an unprepared party. Once you arrive at the Pyramid, be cautious: it’s filled with traps. To reach the Magic Key, start on the first level of the Pyramid and head to the upper-right corner to find the stairs. On the second level, go south until you hit a dead end, then head west to find the next set of stairs. From there, head north to reach a barrier, and behind it, you’ll find the Magic Key.
How to Open the Boss Chamber
Behind the barrier, you’ll find two treasure chests and a demonic-looking creature. The challenge now is getting past the barrier. In the room, there are four buttons – two in the southeast corner and two in the southwest. You can try to figure out the correct combination by trial and error, but with all the random encounters, constantly running back and forth could become really frustrating. Press the button on the right (east side) first, then press the button on the left (west side). Ignore the two middle buttons. Doing this will open the boss chamber. You’ll need to defeat the boss to reach the chest and get the Magic Key.
How to Defeat Ripper of the Rift
Ripper of the Rift is a tough fight, especially if you walk in without being prepared, and your party is low on health. To make it through, using Kabuff and Magic Barrier is crucial. It’s also a good idea to focus on taking out the Khyss first to reduce the number of threats. Before entering the room, be sure to do a quick round of healing so your party is ready for the fight, and you don’t waste your first turn just getting everyone back up to speed. With the enemies defeated, you can now grab the Magic Key and continue on through the Romarian Outpost.
