Light Crystal Farming Location MH Wilds

Light crystals are an essential when leveling Ore-based weapons in Monster Hunter Wilds, especially during the later stages of the game. The weapons themselves are not pleasing to the eye at first, but with their over-average base damage, they are still a good choice against physically weakest-defensively monsters. A distinguishing factor between monster-based weapons and Ore weapons is the fact that they don’t need specific drops from creatures, which makes it a very convenient choice that saves you from random backtracking. As you venture into deeper areas, you’ll encounter rarer ores that drive these weapons further.

Ore Weapons in MH Wilds

The Ore upgrade tree in Monster Hunter Wilds may appear straightforward at first glance, but these weapons are heavy hitters. With their high base damage, they are an excellent choice, particularly against low-physical-defense monsters. And because Ore weapons do not need monster-specific materials, they’re a time-saving option that keeps you from backtracking unnecessarily in the early game.

As you get further into the game, you’ll encounter the rarer ores that further power these weapons. One of the most important end-game ores within low-rank locations is Lightcrystal, an important component for unlocking the last low-rank upgrade for the Ore tree.

Light Crystal Farming Location

Light crystals can be obtained from Mining Outcrops in the final region of the game, the Ruins of Wyveria, which becomes accessible in Chapter 3-1. Once you reach this area, you can explore and farm Mining Outcrops to collect Lightcrystals along with other valuable ores like Machalite Ore and Dragonite Ore.

Efficient Farming Strategies

These materials are required to upgrade Ore weapons, so it’s always best to acquire them if possible. Each Mining Outcrop typically has three or four materials in it, and they respawn every 15 real-world minutes, so it’s convenient to go back to prime locations for farming. Find blue rock question mark icons on the map to find Mining Outcrops.

Keep in mind that each Mining Outcrop may only yield one Lightcrystal, if any at all, alongside varying amounts of Machalite and Dragonite Ore. So, if you’re aiming to farm efficiently, make sure to check multiple outcrops and revisit them as they respawn.

Best Farming Spot for Light crystals

Wyveria doesn’t have as many Mining Outcrops as Oilwell Basin, but the good news is you won’t need a lot of light crystals at once. The best spot to farm them is Area 5, which is one of the closest regions to your base camp. While there are only three Mining Outcrops in this area, you can make farming easier by setting a waypoint on an outcrop while mounted on your Seikret; your bird will automatically take you there. Although this method isn’t the fastest compared to farming other minerals, it allows you to multitask. While your Seikret navigates, you can gather additional resources or pick up Slinger ammo along the way.
