The Secure Backpack is one of the most useful items that can be found in MW4 DMZ when it comes to protecting your loot on deployment. There are two types of Secure Backpacks – Small Secure Backpack and Large Secure Backpack, each having its own recipe that must be unlocked first before being crafted. Once you’ve collected the recipe cards, you can use the required materials to craft these backpacks.
Large Secure Backpack Recipe Location

The Large Secure Backpack recipe can be obtained from loot boxes in Hajin. One known place where the loot box containing the recipe has been seen is the medicine box of Wolves Stadium. Look inside the loot boxes in the stadium, and take the recipe card if it’s there.
You cannot know for sure which box contains the recipe, so try a few times if you have to. Another place you can check out is the Hoesik Supply Room, but you will require a key to unlock the door. Once you find the blueprint for the backpack, extract successfully to unlock the recipe at the FOB’s 3D Printer.
Small Secure Backpack Recipe Location

A small Secure Backpack recipe can be obtained as a lootable recipe in Hajin, although the exact lootable container/building that will give it as a drop is random. Just loot from all the containers you come across in your exploration and make sure you have the recipe card in your possession. Once location that you can check out is the Hanex Bank, but you will require the Hanex Guard Station Key to get into the Guard Station and loot the lockers here to get the small secure backpack recipe.
Other Ways to Get Large and Small Secure Backpacks
There are two other methods to collect the two secure backpacks in the game. The first method is to visit the FOB vendor and purchase the large backpack for $50,000 and the small backpack for $25,000. The second method is to progress through the DMZ levels and unlock the blueprints for the backpacks directly. But you will only get the recipe for the small backpack through this method, which unlocks at level 2. You can increase your levels by playing the game and successfully completing missions.
How To Craft Both Secure Backpacks
After unlocking the recipes, head to the 3D Printer at your FOB and open the Backpacks category.
Backpack | Crafting materials |
| Large Secure Backpack | 2 Prototype RF Modules, 4 Alloyed Plating, 10 Rigid Synthetics |
| Small Secure Backpack | 50 Metals, 3 Structural Alloy, 10 Rigid Synthetics |
The Small Secure Backpack has three secure slots, while the Large Secure Backpack has four secure slots and an additional weapon slot. It is always best to use the Large Secure Backpack whenever you get the time to craft it, as this will prove highly beneficial in the long run as you complete missions in DMZ.
