How To Upgrade Weapon Damage (Needlesmith Location) In Hollow Knight Silksong

Upgrading your Needle in Hollow Knight: Silksong is the key to dealing more damage and making battles easier as you progress. To do this, you’ll need the help of Plinney, the Needlesmith, who specializes in Hornet’s weapon. Your first upgrade comes free after defeating the Widow boss, but every upgrade after that requires completing quests for Plinney, usually involving rare materials hidden throughout the world. This guide will show you how to upgrade your Needle and increase your weapon damage in Hollow Knight: Silksong.

How To Upgrade Weapon Damage

You can only upgrade your Needle through Plinney, a skilled smith who knows how to work with Hornet’s weapon. After you beat the Widow boss, Plinney will give you the first upgrade for free. But after that, you’ll need to help him out with different quests before he agrees to improve your weapon again. Each quest is a little different, but most of them involve tracking down rare materials scattered across the world. Some of these items might take a while to find, and a few you’ll probably need to buy, so be ready to put in some work if you want all of Plinney’s upgrades.

Before you can upgrade your Needle, you’ll first need to finish the quest called “The Threadspun Town,” which starts in Bellhart. Once you’ve completed that, head to the top-right area of Bellhart and look for a shop with a needle sign hanging out front. Inside the bellhouse on the right, you’ll find Plinney. His place is easy to spot thanks to the three white pins above the door. Talk to him, go through his dialogue, and when he asks “Sharpen Needle?”, just pick Yes to get the Sharpened Needle.
