How to Unlock West Gate
Opening the West Gate lets you start drafting Outer Rooms each one comes with its own special features and powerful bonuses that can really boost your run. You can pick one Outer Room per day.
To unlock the West Gate in Blue Prince, you’ll need to draft both the Utility Closet and the Garage in the same run. Don’t worry they don’t have to be connected.
How to Unlock the Garage Door
To get past the fence and unlock the West Gate in Blue Prince, you’ll need to draft both the Garage and the Utility Room during the same run. The Garage only shows up in the west wing way over on the far left side of the 5×9 grid and it costs a Gem to draft. The Utility Room is a dead-end and can appear anywhere in the house. The two rooms don’t need to be connected.
Once you’re in the Utility Room, flip the breaker to turn the power on for the Garage. Head back to the Garage, and you’ll see that the Garage Door button usually red has now turned green. You’ll find it on the wall near the entrance. Hit that button, and the door will open, leading you outside.
How to Unlock West Gate Permanently
Grab the three Keys that always spawn in the Garage, then head outside. Take a moment to explore and you’ll find a locked fence to the west. Instead of going that way, head south there’s a break in the stone wall and a wooden plank crossing over a stream.
Once you’re across, you’ll see two paths: one to the left and one to the right. Going right takes you to the Grounds, where you can draft a special Outdoor Room.
To unlock the West Gate, take the path to the left (east) after crossing the plank. This leads you around to the back side of the gate the opposite side from the manor entrance. Interact with the lock to lift it, and the West Gate will be permanently unlocked.
From now on, this path will stay open for all future runs, giving you direct access to the Grounds right from the start. Just keep in mind: the wooden plank over the stream only shows up if you exited the manor through the Garage Door so make sure to use that route if you want easy access.
