How to Unlock Red Hare in Dynasty Warriors Origins (Xiapi Ultimate Warrior Challenge)

The legendary Red Hare mount is unlocked after a test of skill in Dynasty Warriors: Origins. You must face the infamous Lu Bu at the Battle of Xiapi, playing on the “Ultimate Warrior” setting. This is a one-on-one duel, and you need to have impeccable timing, wise equipment choices, and focus because Lu Bu attacks you with everything he has while on horseback and on foot. Be prepared for an extremely challenging fight, testing every possible skill related to the fighting game.

How to Unlock Red Hare

The Red Hare was a legendary horse from the Three Kingdoms period in China. It was famous for its stunning red mane and incredible speed. People believed it was a type of Ferghana horse, but much larger. This legendary horse was incredibly fast and powerful. Stories say it could run an astonishing distance in a single day and even farther at night!

In Dynasty Origins, the Red Hare is often the fastest horse available. It’s also commonly associated with Lu Bu, the powerful warrior from the Three Kingdoms. You don’t need to do anything special to get Red Hare in Dynasty Warriors: Origins. But, you’ll have to win a really tough fight to earn it. You need to beat Lu Bu in the Battle of Xiapi.

Xiapi Ultimate Warrior Challenge

For those interested in trying Red Hare from Dynasty Warriors: Origins, this requires completing the Battle of Xiapi under “Ultimate Warrior,” the last and toughest mode after the conclusion of the storyline. That is to say no cheats, including no healing, getting extra food, or anyone fighting for you; it is just one to one, just pure skills with the help of your power-up items. Make sure you’re at least level 77 before you attempt this challenging fight, as it’s the recommended level for this battle.

How to beat Lu Bu

When facing Lu Bu, you need to watch out for his attacks, which change depending on whether he’s on his horse, Red Hare, or fighting on foot.

  • On Red Hare:
    • Crescent Slash: He fires a barrage of red energy from his spear.
    • Bulldozer: Red Hare glows, and Lu Bu charges through the battlefield, zigzagging to hit everyone in his path.
    • Diving Crash: He leaps high into the air and slams down, creating a powerful shockwave.

You can dodge all these attacks, but you need to time your moves perfectly. Sometimes, Lu Bu will glow orange. If you use a special attack at this moment, you can interrupt him.

Sometimes, you’ll encounter Lu Bu fighting on foot. In some levels, he might start on foot, while in others, like Hulao Gate, he’ll only dismount when he’s low on health.

When Lu Bu is on foot, his attacks are harder to predict. The key is to be ready to dodge quickly.

One of his most dangerous moves is the Triple Arrow Shot. This attack can easily kill you in a few hits. Luckily, it’s an “orange glow” move, so you can interrupt it with a special attack. But be careful! You’ll need a long-range special attack to reach him. If you only have the basic short-range attack, it won’t work.

Before taking on Lu Bu, make sure you’re properly equipped.

  • Weapon: Choose a weapon like a sword that can hit him quickly and stun him.
  • Battle Arts: Equip skills that are easy to use, don’t require a lot of energy, and have a wide range. Some good options include Falcon Flurry, Mad Blade Rush, Absconding Slash, and Flying Dragon Slash.
  • Accessories: Wear items like Divine Bird’s Wing and Divine Turtle’s Shell to increase your health and defense. Lu Bu hits incredibly hard, so you need to stay alive as long as possible.
  • Bravery: Look for a weapon with a skill that gives you energy (Bravery) every time you perfectly dodge an attack. Dodging will be crucial in this fight, so this skill will help you keep your energy up.

By preparing this way, you’ll give yourself the best chance of defeating Lu Bu and claiming Red Hare!
