The Bioscanner is a mid-game tool that reveals bio data of alien life and key objects. You can obtain its blueprint deep in the east, typically inside the Cicada Wreck near the Alien Ruins. Repair the wreck’s door to gain access, descend to the lower shaft to find and scan the Bioscanner, then craft it at a Modification Station. This guide shows the exact path to reach the Cicada Wreck, where to find the Bioscanner blueprint and how to craft it so that you can start scanning the alien life to obtain biomods.
Cicada Wreck Location

To reach the Cicada Wreck, head southeast from Alien Base while maintaining around ~100m depth. These waters are really foggy and you can’t spot the wreck easily, but luckily for us there’s a tall structure with purple lights near the wreck as shown in the above second image, look for this structure and you’ll easily spot the wreck.
Obtaining Bioscanner Blueprint

There’s an entrance to the side of the wreck through which you can head inside. You’ll come across a broken door inside which you can repair using the repair tool.

Head inside and go through left to reach the next room where you’ll find a tunnel to go through as shown in the above second picture.

Make your way through the tunnel and you’ll reach a closed compartment with a hole on the wall, go through it and you’ll reach a room where you can find the bioscanner, now all you need to do is, scan the bioscanner to unlock its blueprint.
Crafting Bioscanner

You can only craft the Bioscanner through the Modification Station under tool upgrades. You’re going to need the following resources to craft the bioscanner – scanner tool, enameled glass and conduit crystal.
Obtaining Biomods

To get Biomods, you need to build a Biolab using the habitat builder inside the base.

Open the biolab menu and you’ll have 2 options – active biomods and passive biomods. You can assign the biomods by simply clicking on the desired biomod.
How To Unlock Biomods

If you click on the locked biomods, it will show you which alien life you need to scan using the Bioscanner to unlock these biomods.

Then all you need to do is, find the alien life and scan them using the Bioscanner. This will unlock new biomods that you can equip depending on your playstyle.
