Scatty’s chest is located inside his hut in the Old Camp and it can be looted to complete the “A Ring for Fingers” quest. You can retrieve Scatty’s Ring for Fingers or stash the valuable early game loot. You can open the chest by lockpicking or by following a specific plate movement sequence if you’re low on lockpicks. The chest contains the ring, a pickaxe and about 16 ore nuggets, making it one of the best early game loots.
A Ring for Fingers Quest
To start the A Ring for Fingers quest, you must speak with Fingers who can be found on the left side of the camp from the north entrance. But before you can start Fingers quest you need to talk to Diego to initiate the Casting Shadows quest which allows you to start the fingers quest.
Scatty’s Hut Location
Head to this location inside the Old camp which is near the Arena. Then look for a hut with a notice board on top of the hill as shown in the above second image. Inside the hut you’ll find Scatty’s chest but it’s locked and you need to lockpick it. If you’re having difficulty cracking his chest, refer to below steps to open the chest.
Scatty’s Chest Lockpick Solution
I’ve numbered the plates in the above picture for reference and the steps to lockpick Scatty’s chest are as follows –
- Move the 5th plate to the left once.
- Then move the 3rd plate to the right 5 times.
- Select the 5th plate again and move it 2 times to the left.
- Now move the 2nd plate 2 times to the right.
- Then move the 5th plate again 6 times to the left.
- Move the 4th plate 6 times to the left.
- Then move the 5th plate again 6 times to the left.
- Move the 3rd plate again 2 times to the left.
- Then again move the 5th plate 2 times to the left.
- Move the 2nd plate 2 times to the right.
- Then move the 5th plate again 2 times to the right.
- Now move the 4th plate to the right once.
- Then select the 1st plate and move it 2 times to the right.
Following the above sequence will successfully unlock Scatty’s chest and you can collect the contents of the chest.
Return to Fingers and hand over Scatty’s ring to him, thus completing the quest A Ring for Fingers quest.
