How to Make Your Barn Automatic in Schedule 1

Looking to build a fully automated crystal operation in Schedule 1. This guide breaks down everything you need to transform your barn into a streamlined production powerhouse. From budgeting and staffing to setting up equipment and assigning roles, we’ll walk you through each step to ensure your setup runs smoothly and efficiently. You’ll need a solid starting budget, the right tools, and a well-organized layout to maximize output. Whether you’re just getting started or refining your process, follow along to create a self-sufficient, high-performing barn that keeps the product moving and profits flowing.

How to Make Your Barn Automatic

Before you start setting up your barn to maximize crystal production, you’ll need to make sure you’re well-equipped with the right resources.

  • Begin with a solid budget, at least $100,000 in cash to get things rolling. You’ll also need enough storage space for both your raw ingredients and finished products.
  • Staffing is crucial, too. Hire eight chemists to run the chemistry stations, along with two handlers to manage automation.
  • Make sure your barn is stocked with the necessary equipment, including two Mixing Station II units, eight Lab Ovens, eight Chemistry Stations, one Packing Station Mk II, and four Brick Presses, if you’ve unlocked them.
  • Don’t forget the living arrangements; set up ten beds upstairs so your chemists have a place to rest. To kick things off, place an initial delivery order for 80 units each of acid and phosphorus, which will cost around $6,600

If you’re unsure how to recruit employees or acquire Mixing Station II units, no worries; we’ve got guides to help you through the process. With these essentials in place, you’ll be ready to build an efficient and productive crystal operation.

Storage Setup

First, focus on organizing your storage. You’ll need shelves to separate ingredients like acid, phosphorus, and pseudoephedrine. Set up distinct areas in your barn: one section for raw materials, another for finished product and packaging items like baggies and jars, and a dedicated overflow shelf for extra crystals waiting to be packaged.

Production Layout

Next, it’s time to set up your production line. Place eight Chemistry Stations and eight Lab Ovens in an alternating layout, making sure each station is paired with an oven directly in front of it. Leave enough space in between for easy movement. Then head upstairs and place ten beds, you’ll need to assign one to each chemist for better management, even if they don’t use them much. After that, install two Mixing Stations near your chemistry shelves to process raw crystal, and if unlocked, add two to four Brick Presses close to storage to make compression efficient.

Assigning Roles

Once your equipment is in place, assign each chemist to a Chemistry Station and its matching Lab Oven. Your two handlers can take care of stocking the Mixing Stations and moving product from mixers to brick presses. If you haven’t stocked up on pseudoephedrine yet, reach out to Shirley Watts. Start by ordering low-quality pseudo through dead drops, and keep doing it until you unlock the full meet-up, where you can buy large quantities (usually up to 90 units).

Sourcing Pseudoephedrine

Now for the actual setup: fill your designated shelves with pseudoephedrine, acid, and phosphorus. Load each Chemistry Station with 10 units of acid and phosphorus, set them to produce liquid crystal, and assign their destination to the corresponding Lab Oven. Then, direct each oven to output to a nearby shelf. Order your packaging materials next, about 160 baggies and 80 jars should do. Keep these near the mixing stations, along with 160 of each mix ingredient.

Restock & Payroll

Before you begin production, restock supplies by ordering another 80 acid and 80 phosphorus, and once it’s available, another 80 pseudoephedrine. Don’t forget to pay your workers, fill a briefcase with cash near their beds to keep things running smoothly.

Start Production

Finally, it’s time to start production. Start the first batch and watch as chemists move the crystal in stacks of 10. Keep an eye on your acid and phosphorus levels, restock when needed, and make sure jars, bags, and mixers are always available. Use extra shelves to hold overflow product before packaging.

Once you have enough filled jars and bags, compress them into bricks. Assign your handler to automate movement from product shelves to mixing stations and presses. If things start piling up, tweak the routes or temporarily unlist items to prevent dealer messages from interrupting setup.
