How to Make Padded Cloth in Runescape Dragonwilds

If you’re into armor crafting in Runescape Dragonwilds, one material you’ll definitely want to get familiar with is Padded Cloth. It’s a textile used in several mid- to high-tier armor recipes, making it important for players looking to gear up with better protection. Whether you’re aiming to become a powerful mage or a well-armored warrior, knowing how to craft and use Padded Cloth is important. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the steps to make it and explain how it’s used in some of the game’s most useful gear.

How to Make Padded Cloth

To craft Padded Cloth in the game, you’ll first need to have a Loom and upgrade it with the Loom Harness. This upgrade allows you to combine two different types of materials to create a more advanced textile. Once you’ve got both the Loom and the Loom Harness, using them is pretty straightforward. Just interact with the Loom to open its menu, then place one Rough Cloth and one Wool Cloth into the input slots, and hit the start button. You’ll end up with one Padded Cloth in your inventory. To craft Rough Cloth, insert three Coarse Threads into the Loom. For Wool Cloth, use two Wool Threads.

How to Make Loom Harness

To start, you’ll need access to a Loom but not just the basic version. You’ll also need to upgrade it with the Loom Harness. Crafting this upgrade requires a few specific materials: Ash Planks, Oak Logs, Iron Bars, Wool Thread, and Ram Horn. Make sure the Loom Harness is installed next to your Loom, as it allows you to combine two different materials to create more advanced textiles like Padded Cloth.

How to Use Padded Cloth

Padded Cloth is a key ingredient used in crafting a variety of armor pieces in the game. Some of the gear you can make with it includes the Dark Mage Robes, Dark Mage Hood, Studded Leather Cowl, Dark Mage Robe Legs, Studded Leather Chaps, Studded Leather Body, Iron Platelegs, Iron Helmet, and Iron Platebody.

In addition to Padded Cloth, most of these armor recipes will also require materials like Iron Bars, Vault Shards, and Hard Leather. You can find Iron Ore only in the Stormtouched Highlands, which you’ll need to smelt into Iron Bars. To get Hard Leather, you’ll have to process regular Leather in an upgraded Tannery. As for Vault Shards, you’ll need to explore dungeons scattered throughout Ashenfall to collect them.
