When you start exploring deeper and more dangerous water using your Tadpole, power management becomes a much bigger problem. Long exploration runs and constant lighting can drain the Power Cells surprisingly fast, leaving you stranded far from base if you aren’t prepared. And that’s where the Engine Efficiency upgrade comes in, it reduces overall consumption of the vehicle by 20% which allows us to operate longer and handle deep water expeditions. This guide will show you exactly which upgrade module to craft to increase the engine efficiency and the resources needed.
Note : You need to unlock Modification Station before you can start upgrading your tadpole, you can check out my guide on How To Unlock Tadpole Upgrades.
Tadpole Engine Efficiency Module

Open the Modification Station menu, and look for the Engine Efficiency upgrade module under the Tadpole upgrades. Crafting this module requires the following resources – titanium ingot, glass and system chip. These upgrades won’t be applied to your tadpole automatically, so you need to install them manually.

To do that, access the upgrades compartment on the back of your Tadpole and then all you need to do is, drag-n-drop the Engine Efficiency module from your inventory to the Tadpole’s upgrade slots as shown in the above second image. Now the tadpole’s overall energy consumption is reduced by 20%.
