The Granite Maul is a powerful weapon in Runescape DragonWilds, but getting your hands on it isn’t simple. It’s hidden behind a quest called Granite Mauled, filled with mysterious dungeons, tricky mechanics, and a tough boss fight. This guide walks you through the entire journey, from the moment you meet Doric to the final step of forging the maul.
How to Get the Granite Maul
To get the Granite Maul in Runescape DragonWilds you need to complete a quest called Granite Mauled. The journey begins with a dwarven NPC named Doric, who introduces players to a mystery hidden beneath a location called Ashen’s Watch. Beneath this watchtower lies an unmarked dungeon, but before exploring it, players must first gather infused bark from some magical trees nearby, this material is crucial for crafting the Granite Maul later.
Unlocking the Dungeon
However, getting into the dungeon isn’t straightforward. The entrance is sealed, and to unlock it, players need to light four torches positioned on statues around the vault. One is right next to the door, and the others are spread out nearby. Once all four are lit, the dungeon opens, signaling the start of a more dangerous part of the dungeon.
Inside, there aren’t any complicated puzzles, just group of tough enemies. Survival becomes the main challenge. One clever trick that can help is using a spell called Magical Mending, which repairs damaged gear simply by dropping it on the ground and casting the spell.
Defeat the Vault Overlord
Many player struggle initially, facing defeat due to a lack of arrows, forgetting to heal, and dying multiple times. But if you keep at it, it gets easier. Stock up on 200 bronze arrows, go in with a solid game plan, and you’ll eventually take down the Vault Overlord, the dungeon’s powerful boss.
Crafting the Granite Maul
After the victory, you will was discover a weapon blueprint written in Dwarfish. Taking it back to Doric will reveal its purpose, it is the design for the Granite Maul. Doric will identify the Granite Maul head and explaine that the weapon needed two more crafted components: a handle and leather wrappings.
The Granite Maul boasts a damage range of 66 – 95 and features a special move called Battering Ram. It looks powerful and feels satisfying to use, though its slow attack speed is a drawback. An air enchantment helped speed things up, but even then, the Abyssal Whip remains a go-to weapon – faster, more reliable, and ideal for staying agile in combat.
