Tadpole Haul Chassis is a high capacity upgrade that turns your Tadpole into a slow but spacious hauler with extra seats and two large cargo storages. To unlock it, you must locate and scan three chassis fragments scattered around the Alien Ruins research outpost and nearby wrecks. Come prepared with a depth module upgrade for your tadpole and a scanner. Once you’ve scanned all 3 fragments, you’ll unlock the blueprint and can build the Haul Chassis.
Obtaining Haul Chassis Blueprint
To obtain the blueprint of Tadpole Haul Chassis, you’d have to scan 3 chassis fragments that are scattered around the Alien Ruins.
1st Fragment
Head east from Alien Base and stay around ~200m depth until you reach the following wreck site shown in the first image. Just below this wreck, there’s an expedition site where you’ll get to scan the first fragment of the haul chassis.
2nd Fragment
Then travel northeast from the wreck until you reach another expedition site where you get to scan the second fragment of the chassis.
3rd Fragment
The 3rd fragment, which is actually the first fragment that you’ll come across when you’re progressing the story to find a blackbox. I don’t remember exactly where I found the chassis but it’s closer to the seabed and surrounded by hunters. And if you haven’t come across this blackbox quest yet then don’t worry as I’ve got another location where you can find the 3rd fragment.
To get the 3rd fragment, you’d have to get to the Angel Comb first which is just past the power plant and around ~400m deep.
Then head northeast from the angel comb until you reach a new area as shown in the above image. Then go to the highlighted area marked in the image and you’ll find the 3rd chassis fragment to scan and unlock the blueprint of Haul Chassis.
Crafting Tadpole Haul Chassis
Crafting the Haul Chassis is going to require the following resources – titanium ingot, strontium, enameled glass and dedicated core. After crafting the haul chassis, all you need to do is to pilot the tadpole closer to the chassis and it will automatically be equipped to your tadpole.
Haul Chassis is very slow but it comes with a lot of storage options. It has 2 storage chambers at the back and you can also attach two portable storage containers on each side of the chassis which makes the haul chassis an ideal vehicle when you’re on a supply run.
