Axum Bacterial Culture is a unique craftable material from Subnautica 2 that you need to make the Metal Farm. This resource is located in sludge pools around the Alien Power Plant in the Angel Comb area. Because the resource is hidden inside thick ooze, it can be easy to miss if you do not know exactly where to look. In this guide, we will show you where to find Axum Bacterial Culture and explain how to use it.
How To Get An Axum Bacterial Culture

Axom Bacterial Culture is a special crafting item that can be collected from the sludge pools around the Alien Power Plant in the Angel Comb area. Start your journey by reaching the Alien Power Plant. The Alien Power Plant is situated near the Angel Comb Biome. Then, swim towards the northeast at an angle of 30 degrees.

Swim straight while following the border of the Angel Comb Biome. At some point, the landscape will make a turn towards the right side. However, do not follow the turn but go straight ahead. Soon enough, you will find a large pool filled with sludge or ooze. Dive into the pool and find some organic growths that stick out from the sludge. Those are the Axom Bacterial Culture nodes. Just approach them and interact using your hands.
How To Use An Axum Bacterial Culture
Axum Bacterial Culture is the material that is currently required to create the Metal Farm using the Habitat Builder. The requirements for building a Metal Farm are one Mangalloy Ingot and one Axum Bacterial Culture. After obtaining both materials, all you need to do is go to your Habitat Builder and choose the Metal Farm design. To know more, read our guide on “How to Unlock Habitat Builder in Subnautica 2”.
