Wyverian Bloodstones are a premium material in Monster Hunter Wilds. These exclusive materials only fall from Tempered monsters. Regardless of whether you wish to create superior Artian swords or simply amass supplies in preparation for Wyverian Melding, knowing how to farm and effectively utilize Wyverian Bloodstones will allow you to get the most out of your hunts. This guide will demystify everything you will need to know, from their location to utilization.
Wyverian Bloodstone
Once you reach High Rank, you’ll have so many materials to manage that you might not even realize you’ve picked up Wyverian Bloodstones. The game never really explains what they are or even mentions that they come from Tempered monsters. In fact, all variations of Wyverian Bloodstones can only be obtained from Tempered monsters.
Wyverian Bloodstone Drop Guide
Below are different Wyverian Bloodstones and the level of Tempered monsters you need to hunt to obtain them:
- Wyverian Bloodstone Shard – Dropped in Five-Star hunts
- Wyverian Bloodstone (S) – Dropped in Six-Star hunts
- Wyverian Bloodstone – Dropped in Six-Star hunts
- Wyverian Bloodstone (L) – Dropped in Six and Seven-Star hunts
- Wyverian Bloodstone Chunk – Dropped in Seven-Star and above hunts
How to Get Wyverian Bloodstone
Hunter Symbols are also Tempered monster hunt exclusives, so you can obtain both items in one run. Acquiring a Wyverian Bloodstone requires that you shatter Tempered Wounds, which are different from regular wounds and only available on Tempered monsters. Tempered monsters will have scars even before the hunt starts, indicating where they were injured previously. Attacking those areas repeatedly will ultimately reveal a Tempered Wound.
While regular wounds can still appear on Tempered monsters, they only drop standard wound rewards, not Bloodstones. You can easily spot a Tempered Wound because it glows blue instead of red, so keep targeting those old scars to maximize your Bloodstone drops.
How to Use Wyverian Bloodstone
Once you’ve proven that even the toughest Tempered monsters are no match for your skills, you should have plenty of Wyverian Bloodstones to put to use. These are used for Wyverian Melding back in Suja, specifically for crafting relics, the key components needed to forge Artian weapons.
Wyverian Bloodstone Melding Values
Each form of Wyverian Bloodstone is valued differently, depending on its use in Wyverian Melding, for the amount of progress you have toward relic crafting. Wyverian Bloodstone Shards are the least valued at 1, but Wyverian Bloodstone (S) is 5. A normal Wyverian Bloodstone is more valuable at 20, with Wyverian Bloodstone (L) at 60. The most valuable of all, Wyverian Bloodstone Chunk, is worth a massive 240, making it the best option for quick and efficient melding.
A single Bloodstone Chunk is enough to craft two relics, and any old relics you’ve collected from hunting Tempered monsters can also be used in melding. It’s a never-ending grind, but a worthwhile one. If you’re not interested in crafting Artian weapons, you can always sell them for some extra Zenny instead.
