How to Get and Use Dalthydon Wool MH Wilds

Dalthydon Wool is a valuable crafting material in Monster Hunter Wilds, essential for forging the High Rank Kunafa Armor set and Palico gear. Unlike typical monster drops, you obtain it through trading with NPCs in specific locations. This guide will cover where to find Dalthydon Wool, how to trade for it, and its key uses in crafting.

Dalthydon Wool Location in MH Wilds

Dalthydon Wool is a rare material that can only be obtained through trading. To get it, visit either Gawdygog at the Wudwud Hideout or Kilama in Kunafa. After speaking with both of them at least once, you’ll be able to access their inventories by talking to Nata in front of your base camp tent after completing Chapter 3 of the main story.

Each trader’s inventory is drawn from a unique pool of items, which rotates randomly. For instance, both Kilama and Gawdygog occasionally offer Sinister Cloth, and they are the only two traders who can provide it.

How to Refresh Trader Inventories and Required Trade Items

If you want to refresh the traders’ inventories, head to your tent and select the Rest option. This will allow you to choose a season and time of day to fast-forward to. After resting, check back with Nata or the traders to see their updated offerings.

Gawdygog always requires Ancient Wyvern Coins for any item you want from him. On the other hand, Kilama may ask for either Fine Windward Aloe or Pure Fulgurite. You can obtain these materials during Emergence events in Windward Plains. Keep an eye on the Environment Overview screen or wait for a notification to appear.

How to Use Dalthydon Wool to Craft the Kunafa Armor Set in MH Wilds

Dalthydon Wool is a key material, along with Talioth Scale + and Acute Fang, used to craft the Kunafa armor set, which includes:

  • Kunafa Headgear Alpha
  • Kunafa Sash Alpha
  • Kunafa Chaps Alpha
  • Kunafa Cloak Alpha

The Kunafa set provides strong protection against Thunder but minimal resistance to other elements. It also comes with the following armor skills:

  • Palico Rally 4
  • Wide-Range 4
  • Speed Eating 2
  • Free Meal 2

This set is designed more for convenience than defense. Speed Eating and Free Meal improve your ability to heal quickly during hunts, while Palico Rally boosts your Palico’s damage output. Wide-Range is helpful when playing co-op, allowing you to support teammates more effectively.
