How to Get All Keepsakes in Hades 2

Keepsakes are some of the most precious assets at your disposal in Hades 2. These trinkets have passive effects that can change the course of a run, whether that’s giving you an extra life when you die, boosting your critical hit chance, or guaranteeing that certain boons are active. They don’t just make your build stronger — they make staying alive more plausible the deeper you go in the Underworld and even up onto the Surface.

If you’ve gone through the original Hades, the mechanic will ring a bell: Keepsakes are tied to Nectar, a limited resource you can bestow upon the many gods, heroes, and spirits you meet along the way. Paying it forward rewards you with a Keepsake unique to a character, and once unlocked, you can plug it in before you set off on a run.

This guide shows you how to obtain Keepsakes in Hades 2, how to upgrade them, and includes a full list of every Keepsake in the game.

How to Unlock Keepsakes

It’s simple:

  • Stand next to a character and interact (RT controller / G keyboard).
  • Select Nectar from your inventory and offer it to them.
  • On your first gift, they will reciprocate by offering their Keepsake to you.

You can only obtain one Keepsake per character, so the secret to acquiring them all is spreading your Nectar across the cast. Because some NPCs show up at random on runs, it’s brilliant to have at least one Nectar available so you don’t lose out.

How to Upgrade Keepsakes

Keepsakes are levelled simply by surviving encounters while keeping them equipped. Every chamber you clear while using the Keepsake contributes to its levelling up.

  • Rank 1 → 2: Requires 25 encounters.
  • Rank 2 → 3: Requires another 50 encounters.

With every rank, the effect becomes stronger. For example, Dora’s Ghost Onion heals 50 total HP at rank 1, 75 at rank 2, and maximises at 101 at rank 3. Some Keepsakes scale exponentially, and this can turn a trinket in the early game into a beast in the late game.

You can equip Keepsakes at the cabinet in the staging room before your run. Initially, you can only wear one per night, but further upgrades allow switching between regions. Keep in mind that once you remove a Keepsake in the middle of a run, you cannot wear it again until your next try.
