You can start fishing by switching to the Angler Life at the Guild. Once you change your profession to Angler, you’ll unlock a beginner quest called The Fish, Cat and Angler. To start it, just talk to Angler Master Gramps. He’ll send you to speak with Sardino outside, who’ll then ask you to catch three sardines.

You’ll find the Angler’s Guild down at the docks, just east of the main Guild Office.
To start fishing, press A on Xbox or F on PC when you’re near a fish to ready your rod. Press the same button again when a fish bites to hook it. Keep pressing it to reel the fish in and reduce its stamina.
You can also use the Power Reel to catch fish faster, but keep an eye on your SP and make sure the line doesn’t get too tight, or it might snap.
To pull off an EXCELLENT reel while fishing, just lower the fish’s health to around 5% or less. Once it’s that low, use a Powerful Reel to finish it off, and you should get an EXCELLENT result.
While reeling in a fish, you can choose between a Normal Reel or a Powerful Reel. Just keep in mind that using the powerful option uses up your SP, so save it for the right moment, like when the fish is almost caught or you’re aiming for that EXCELLENT reel.
After you catch the three sardines, talk to Sardino again. He’ll tell you that you can sell your fish in the Capital for some extra Dosh. You’ll get 200 Dosh for the three sardines.
