Red mercury is one of the most important resources you’ll need in WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers, especially as you start levelling up more. Early on, it’s pretty hard to find enemies that don’t drop much, and you’ll need more and more of it the higher your level gets. In this guide, we’ll show you exactly how to get there, how to farm red mercury quickly, and what enemies to focus on.
How to Farm Red Mercury
In the early parts of Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, red mercury is a rare and valuable resource. Enemies don’t drop much of it, and at first, you won’t need a ton to level up, but those level-up costs will stack up fast. Thankfully, there’s a great farming spot you can access pretty early, in Chapter 3 – Mount Zhenwu. And here’s the best part: you don’t need to complete Chapter 2 (Gladspire) to get there. As soon as you finish the Worship’s Rise area, you can go straight to Mount Zhenwu and start farming.
How to Reach the Farming Spot
- Start at the Hills Watch Shrine.
- Head left and go slightly uphill, then turn right into a cave.
- Go through the cave and you’ll arrive at Mount Zhenwu, right near the Battlefield Shrine.
- From the shrine, go left through a gap in the wall. You’ll see two paths, one leads into a cave and the other circles around to an enemy.
- Keep going through the cave and into the next area until you reach a ladder. Climb down, and you’ll find yourself at a refugee camp.
- Here, go right over a bridge and up a hill to activate the Refugee Camp Shrine. It’s a good checkpoint in case you die soon after.
- Now, backtrack and head left, down another ladder into a cave.
- In this area, hug the left wall and deal with the smaller enemies first. Avoid fighting the big bird monster.
Keep following the path until you reach a point where a regular enemy guards a ladder, while a Lotus Summoner fires spells from a distance.
Getting Past the Lotus Summoner
You’ve got two options here:
- You can kill the summoner from a distance using spells, ranged weapon skills, or throwables. This is easiest if you’re using a one-handed sword build.
- Or you can wait for the summoner to fire a spell, then climb the ladder at the last second so the spell will pass through you harmlessly.
Once you’re down the ladder, move quickly; another spell can still hit you if you’re too slow. And with that, you will reach Avian Marsh, your red mercury farming spot.
Farming Route: What to Kill and What You’ll Get
The farming loop here is straightforward:
- Kill the three corrupted humanoid enemies in the area. They each drop about 450 red mercury. They go down in 2-3 hits with a long sword. Magic works too, but waiting on Sky One Might regen slows things down a bit.
- Next, fight the giant clam. It’s highly resistant to damage, so make sure to temper your weapon for extra damage. Once you defeat it, you’ll get around 2,700 red mercury.
- Go right to kill two smaller clams for extra loot.
Once you’re done, run back to the shrine, reset, and repeat the process. On your way back, keep an eye on the ground. Sometimes enemies drop red mercury consumables, but they can be easy to miss, especially with the way the glow blends into the water. Don’t worry about picking them up during the fight; just check for drops on your way back to the shrine.
