Getting through the complexities of your Hunter Profile in Monster Hunter Wilds may come across as somewhat like hunting a rare monster, circumventive and necessitating specific procedures. Worry not, companion hunter! This walkthrough will shed light on how to tailor your in-game persona and express yourself uniquely. We’ll disassemble the process of entering and modifying your profile, from unlocking new title possibilities via narrative progression to the infamous button press that opens up the customization menu.
How to Edit Hunter Profile
When you first start, you’ll have plenty of title options for each word, but you’ll unlock even more as you progress through the main story. The words for the first and third slots in your title are tied to your Hunter Rank, which increases as you move through the story. With each rank, new words become available for you to use. You’ll also pick up a few extra words by exploring and experiencing the different regions, but the main way to expand your title options is by focusing on advancing the story.
Basically, you want to get to your Hunter Profile. Think of it like your in-game business card. Here’s how:
- Open the Main Menu: Just hit the menu button.
- Go to “Info”: Tab over to the “Info” section.
- Find “Hunter Profile”: It’s the third option from the bottom. Select it.
- Edit Your Profile: You’ll see your profile as others see it. At the bottom, there’s a button to go to the edit menu.
- “Edit Top Page Widgets”: Choose this option. It’ll show you the layout of your profile.
- Find Your Title: Look for the widget that displays your current title (usually top right). Select it to change it.
- Change Your Nameplate (Optional): You’ll also see your nameplate (your username). You can move it around, but you can’t remove it.
- Pick Your Words: Your title is made of three words. You’ll get to choose from a bunch of options for each. Don’t worry about getting it perfect right away, you can change it as much as you want, and you’ll unlock more options as you play.
When you open your Hunter Profile from the Start Menu, the option to edit it isn’t immediately visible, which can be pretty confusing. It turns out you need to press a specific button to bring up the edit options!
- PS4: Press L1
- PC: Press Q
- Xbox: Press Left Bumper
Once you hit the right button, the edit options will pop up, and you’ll be able to customize your profile!
