The Broken Bridge inside the Mountain Fortress holds a valuable chest and forces you to think beyond a simple jump. It tests your transformation skills and careful use of them rather than just jumping. This guide gives you the exact step by step cues for crossing the bridge, which transformation scroll to use and the chest lockpick combination so that you can collect the most powerful crossbow in the game, Crossbow of War.
Broken Bridge Location
When you arrive at the Mountain Fortress, enter and proceed straight to the far end where you’ll find a large broken bridge with a gap too wide to clear by jumping. The other end of the bridge conceals a chest containing valuable loot, so crossing requires us to make use of our transformation abilities.
Crossing the Broken Bridge
To cross the broken bridge you must transform into a Bloodfly and fly to the opposite side. First reach a high vantage point, climb to the top of the fortress and stand on the stairway ledge parallel to the bridge as shown in the above image. From that elevation the Bloodfly transformation will let you clear the gap. If you don’t have a Bloodfly transformation scroll, buy one from mages such as Chronos or Saturas.
Transforming into Bloodfly
Equip and use the scroll to transform into a Bloodfly then fly across the gap, move quickly because the Bloodfly form slowly loses altitude and won’t sustain prolonged flight, so you must reach the far ledge before it descends.
Chest Lockpick Combination
After you land on the far side of the broken bridge, you’ll find a locked chest containing the rewards, to open the chest follow the step by step lockpick instructions below-
- Move the 3rd plate to the left 5 times.
- Then move the 4th plate to the left 2 times.
- Now move the 2nd plate to the left 4 times.
- Select and move the 6th plate to the right 5 times.
- Then move the 3rd plate again to the left 2 times.
- Now move the 5th plate to the left 2 times.
- Then move the 1st plate to the left once.
- And finally move the 2nd plate to the left once.
Rewards
When you open the chest you can collect the following rewards – a Potion of Supremacy that permanently increases your strength, crossbow ammunition and a log, plus a standout item – Crossbow of War. This powerful crossbow deals 120 point damage and requires 80 dexterity to wield.
