Want to enter without touching the door to your abode in Once Human? This manual will show you how to customize your own door by adding a couple of sensors, pressure plates, and a working power system. The game does not have those fancy pre-built doors, but neither is it hard to build one from scratch with the components that are available. Follow the guide to install the door of your choice, guarded by motion-control which opens only for you and your allies.
How to Build an Automatic Door in Once Human
Once Human does not just have a clicked-door system where the door opens automatically upon stepping toward it, but you will have to piece one together for yourself. The method is not very complicated but does require certain items and power to actually function. First, you’ll need to unlock the Solar Generator and Electrical kit from the Logistics tab of the Memetics menu. These are important to set up and power the system.
Items Needed

Before you start building, make sure you’ve gathered these items:
- Door Frame – The physical structure of the door
- Pressure Plates (x2) – One for each side of the door
- Power Source – Solar or Hydraulic Generator recommended
- Wall Terminals – To connect all components using wires
- Wires – To link everything together
- Switchboards (x2) – Manage signal flow from sensors to the door
- Dynamic Sensors or Cameras (x2) – Detect movement near the door
How to Set It Up
Now, after getting the supplies, it is about working on the automatic door. Place the Door Frame wherever you want the door to open automatically. Place one Pressure Plate on each side of the door so that it may be triggered from both directions. Put a Switchboard near each Pressure Plate and connect from the power source via Wall Terminals. If set up correctly, the Switchboards will be glowing green to indicate they are being powered.
Next, mount a Sensor or Camera facing each Pressure Plate to detect nearby movement. Connect each Sensor to its corresponding Switchboard using wires. Finally, wire the Pressure Plates to the Door Frame so the signals can trigger the opening mechanism. Once everything is properly linked and powered, the door will open automatically when someone steps on a plate or is detected by the sensor.
Test the Setup

With everything connected and your power running, approach the door or step on a Pressure Plate. If the wiring is correct, the door will open automatically. The system only recognizes you and your allies, so it also serves as a basic security feature, keeping out unwanted players and enemies.
