How to Craft a Torch Grounded 2

If you’re planning to explore the darker areas of the backyard in Grounded 2, having a Torch is a must. It helps you see in caves, tunnels, or anywhere the sunlight doesn’t reach. Crafting one is pretty simple and doesn’t take much, making it one of the first helpful tools you’ll want to make when starting out. Here’s everything you need to know about making and using a Torch.

How to Craft a Torch

The Torch is a basic Tier 1 tool that you can hold in one hand, which makes it really handy for lighting up dark areas while keeping your main hand free. It lasts for about 8 minutes before it burns out, and once its durability runs out, it’ll break and disappear. You’ll unlock the recipe as soon as you discover either Sap or a Dry Grass Chunk, so it’s pretty easy to get started with it early on. If you go into water while holding the Torch, it’ll go out right away, but don’t worry, it won’t keep burning down while it’s off. The durability pause means you won’t lose any extra time on it until you take it out and use it again.

To make a Torch in Grounded, you’ll need a few basic materials: 2 Sprigs, 1 Sap, and 3 Dry Grass Chunks. Once you’ve gathered everything, you can craft it by opening your Handcrafting menu, just scroll all the way down to the bottom of the dial. You’ll also find it under the ‘Light’ category in the main Crafting menu if that’s easier for you.

Sprigs are super easy to find; you’ll see them all over the place as little green plants with two leaves sticking out of the ground. Sap and Dry Grass Chunks are a bit trickier, though. Sap looks like small orange blobs and usually shows up on the surface of tree bark. As for Dry Grass Chunks, you can sometimes find them lying around, but the best way to get them is by chopping down dried-out grass.
