Highlighting the Problem Quest Guide – RuneScape: Dragonwilds

In RuneScape: Dragonwilds, the Highlighting the Problem is not only full of puzzle-solving but the real prize is the reward: the Staff of Light. While you won’t be able to wield its full power right away, you can get the recipe of it in early game and use it afterwards. So if you’ve made it to Bramblemead Valley, you will be able to start this quest. Let’s walk through everything you need to do, step by step.

Highlighting the Problem Quest Guide

If you’re playing through RuneScape: Dragonwilds, one of the quest you really need to complete is Highlighting the Problem because of the reward at the end: the Staff of Light. You won’t be able to craft the staff right away, but you can complete the quest early on, as soon as you reach the Bramblemead Valley area.

To start things off, head into the vault located in the northern part of the map. As you explore inside, you’ll come across a sandy area with some broken pillars shortly after grabbing your first Vault Core. Here, you’ll need to defeat four rats before doing anything else. Once that’s done, look toward the right-hand side from where you entered, you’ll spot an opening high up on the wall. Use the Windstep spell to leap up there, and you’ll find a statue you can interact with and remember Pthentorok.

Second Statute

The first real step of the quest starts with finding a statue inside the Runecrafting Guild. On the map, the area you’re looking for is just to the left of the vault.

To get there, you will need to exit the vault and look for a gap on your right jump through it. From there, head southeast until you spot a road that curves up the mountain to the northwest. Follow that path.

Along the way, you’ll pass a bunch of stone boulders, and once you reach the top, you’ll run into a group of goblins hanging out near a building. Look for a small gate at the bottom left corner of the building’s map icon. Go through it, and you’ll find the statue inside. You will need to interact with it.

Pedestals Puzzle

After you interact with the statue in the Runecrafting Guild, a mysterious voice will guide you to activate three pedestals. These are located on top of the three structures surrounding the main building. You’ll need the Windstep spell to reach each one, so careful position yourself as it is not just about distance, but also about height.

Start with the pedestal just to the right of where the statue is facing you. Circle around the building until you find a small platform with stairs. Stand on that platform and use Windstep to launch yourself up to the first pedestal. You’ll need to be pretty precise with your aim here, so take your time lining it up.

Once you’re at the first pedestal, you’ll notice a narrow roof pathway that connects to the central building. Carefully walk along this roof as far as it lets you go, then use Windstep again to reach the terrace on the right side of the main building. There’s a chest here you can unlock. At the far end of the terrace, Windstep one more time to land on the higher ledge just above you.

From that spot, you’re now in the perfect position to Windstep directly to the second building’s roof, where the next pedestal is present. If you tried jumping straight from the terrace, it wouldn’t work.

Now for the third pedestal head back down to ground level and walk around the third building until you spot some crates nearby. Look for the stack that’s closest to the roof. From there, use Windstep to reach the top and activate the final pedestal. Once you’ve got all three, head back to the statue to complete the sequence and unlock the Staff of Light
