In Control Resonant, the Follow the Relays to Grist goal will have you navigate the research area and cross the chasm while studying the bizarre fluctuations in time. You’ll have to locate Grist, protect the Transmission Tower from the Hiss, ride the Cable Car to cross the chasm, and follow the red relays to reach the last area. This guide explains the route and what you need to do at each step to complete the objective.
Follow the Relays to Grist
The goal is to locate Grist while following the red beacons along the way. Move towards the southeast part of the smaller area, where an objective marker appears. Grist can be found near the edge of the area, so move closer to her and start a conversation with her.
After the conversation with Grist ends, she will disappear. Then you should locate another anomaly, which will be found on the western side of the area. Go to the upper part of the tower, where you will see the recording near Grist’s body.
When you have collected the recording, move to the southeast part of the area from the tower. Continue moving with the help of an objective marker, until you reach the Transmission Tower. At the Transmission Tower, you will face several waves of Hiss. Remain at that spot and destroy all the enemies to proceed with the mission.
After the destruction of the Hiss, a new time fluctuation will appear on your map. Return to the eastern side of the area, where the Cable Car was previously located. There you can start a conversation with Grist.
Cross the Chasm
You need to assist Grist in her work. You need to approach the Cable Car and interact with its controls to ride across the chasm and get to the other side. As soon as you are inside the Cable Car, make sure to move to the left when it stops and take the Power Upgrade crate.
Further, you should go through the path highlighted by the red beacons. Move down toward the Mold and keep going southeast until you find another anomaly highlighted in your map. This will take you to the research area again but a different one.
Enter the northern room and interact with the intercom there to proceed. Then you need to move through the red beacons in the southeast direction. Finally, you will come across the big open room past Dylan’s Corpse, where you need to start with moving to the right and then moving along the walls. You will find a typewriter on one of the upper platforms that indicate you are going in the right direction.
Jump across to the area with the red light past the typewriter platform to get to Grist. After you get to Grist, she will die once more, and you need to complete the last step of the task yourself. Go ahead and set the location of Deepest Underpass as your fast travel point to have a checkpoint before moving on. Take the last probe relay and go down the pipes until you get to the next room. Put the relay next to the tree and activate it to end the task.
