The Mountain Fortress sits above the Colony- built on a mountain, stone walls and narrow halls. The fortress is occupied with Harpies and the bridge to the fortress is guarded by a Bridge Golem. This guide shows exactly where the Mountain Fortress is located, how to defeat the Golem, how to reach the focus stone and collect it, so that you can return to Saturas and give him the focus stone to progress the main storyline.
Mountain Fortress Location
Head to the above marked location shown on the above map image to reach the Mountain Fortress, which is located south of the Valley. Throughout the traversing of the fortress, you’ll encounter multiple Harpies, so be ready for a quick combat.
Bridge Golem
Speak with Lester at the bridge entrance and you’ll learn that a Bridge Golem guards the Mountain Fortress and you need a weapon that deals blunt damage to defeat the golem. After you’ve defeated the golem, advance the mountain to reach the fortress entrance.
Path to the Focus Stone
Once you enter the fortress, make right and you’ll reach a room with stairs. Head above through the stairs to reach the above level where you’ll encounter broken stairs that block your path to reach the next level.
Take left on the corridor and go around the tower to reach another entrance from where you can resume climbing the stairs to reach the next level.
Library Puzzle
After you reach the next level, you’ll have to go through a set of rooms to reach the Library, and one of those rooms is a dining hall with a rather large painting that depicts the Valley’s food chain. Now remember the order shown in the painting and head to the library.
In the Library, each bookshelf has a sculpture on it that is different from each other. You need to interact with the bookshelves in the same order shown in the painting – Swampshark, Wolf and Molerate.
Interact with the bookshelves in the above sequence and it will trigger the hidden mechanism that opens the secret passage through the fireplace.
Take the stairs inside the hidden laboratory, which leads to some sort of attic. Drop down through the opening on the wall and you’ll reach the main quarters of the fortress.
Once you drop down, look to your right – there’s a rather large opening in the wall, go through the opening and stick to the path to the right and you’ll reach the area where the focus stone resides. You’ll encounter a bunch of Harpies when you reach the area, so be ready for combat.
Focus Stone
After you’ve defeated the Harpies, you can collect the Focus Stone and return to Saturas to give him the stone, thus completing the Focus at the Mountain Fortress quest.
