In Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Clea awaits in the treacherous Flying Manor in Act 3; to fight her, you’ll first have to defeat powerful minibosses which can be quite challenging for you. This guide details how to unlock the door behind which you’ll find Clea, counter her complex attack patterns, and even defeat her in a single hit using a specialized team strategy.
Clea’s Location – Flying Manor (Act 3)
Clea is locked away in the Flying Manor, which becomes accessible only after Esquie gains the ability to fly in Act 3. It’s a high-level area meant for parties around Level 75+, ideally with Level 32 upgraded weapons.
Unlocking the Inner Sanctum
In the Central Plaza, a Young Boy apparition explains that to open the door to Clea’s chamber, you must defeat four minibosses (Nevrons) located along the four paths branching out from the Plaza. Each boss is housed in a glass case. Once all four are defeated, the door across the chasm opens, allowing access to Clea’s fight.
How to Defeat Clea in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
Clea uses summoned enemies like Dualliste and Bourgeon in chained attacks. These combos can be tricky to defend against.
Watch Out for Healing
If Clea lands even one hit, she heals around 600,000 HP. Parrying is essential to stop her healing and remove her Chroma shield.
Beat Clea in One Hit
You can skip the long battle by defeating Clea in a single attack. This needs a special setup using Maelle and Sciel.

Clea Attack Patterns
Powerful Nevrons (3-Hit Combo)
Clea summons strong Nevrons to perform three single-target hits. Each strike is slightly delayed, giving time to react between each wind-up.
Violent Nevrons (7-Hit Party Attack)
- These Nevrons target the entire party with seven hits.
- For hits 1–6: Alternate between parrying Chalier and jumping Stalact attacks.
- For hit 7: Parry the final Stalact strike.
Musical Nevrons (5-Hit Single Target)
- Clea calls in musical Nevrons to slash one character five times.
- Four fast slashes come first.
- The fifth hit is from the Troubadours, landing slightly after the others.
Creepy Nevrons (4-Hit Combo)
- These Nevrons launch a 4-hit attack on a single teammate.
- The first three hits have similar parry timing.
- The fourth hit, from Hexga, is slightly delayed.
Agile Nevrons (6-Hit Combo)
- Agile Nevrons strike one character six times.
- The first four hits come quickly.
- The last two hits have short delays between them.
Tricky Nevrons (6-Hit Pattern)
- This combo targets one ally with six hits.
- First four hits come rapidly.
- The fifth hit must be jumped over.
- The sixth is another delayed attack that requires precise timing.
Deep Nevrons (5-Hit Slam Combo)
- These Nevrons hit a single teammate with five attacks.
- The pattern: a quick two-hit, another fast double hit, followed by a slow, heavy slam from Bourgeon.
Rewards
After defeating Clea, she drops another Perfect Chroma Catalyst, giving you a total of five from the Flying Manor, just enough to fully upgrade one weapon for each party member. More significantly, you also receive a unique Pictos called Clea’s Life. When equipped, it fully restores the character’s HP at the start of their turn, as long as they haven’t been hit since their last turn.
Minibosses Overview
You’ll need to fight these minibosses to face Clea, here are some pointers that might come in handy:
Goblu
- Located via the left-side elevator to a high-altitude zone.
- Uses rhythmic bounces that can wipe the party if parries are missed.
- Mid-fight, summons flowers—shoot them to prevent Shield generation.
- Tip: Maelle’s Breaking Rules skill ignores Shields entirely.
Dualliste
- The toughest miniboss—save for last.
- Unlock Perfect Chroma Catalysts from other three minibosses to upgrade weapons to Level 33 before fighting him.
- Uses complex multi-hit and Expedition attacks.
- Tip: Equip Second Chance and Shield-granting Luminas for survivability.
Lampmaster
- Found by taking the right-side elevator to the manor’s depths.
- Lamps enhance its power—shoot them to reduce its attack count.
- Alternate strategy: Parry through and use bonus AP for high-damage Skills.
Eveques Miniboss
- Head down the massive frames at the back right of the Plaza to face a trio of Eveques: Flame, Frost, and Thunder.
- Each one resists most types of damage unless they’re Countered or Broken, so focus on precise parrying and ensure your team has Break Skills equipped.
- Once an Eveque is Stunned, unleash your strongest attacks.
