In Dune Awakening, managing your land on Arrakis comes with its own set of responsibilities, and one of them is paying taxes. The Taxation quest is a small but important task that you’ll need to complete if you want to stay in the Emperor’s good books. Whether you’re just settling in or already building your base, this guide will help you understand how to start the quest, where to pay your taxes, and what to expect as a reward.
How to Start the Taxation Quest
In Dune Awakening, paying taxes isn’t optional; it’s a rule set by the Emperor himself. Anyone living and settling on Arrakis has to pay up, or there will be consequences.
Since you’ve been given a place to live, it means you’ve claimed a small piece of land on Arrakis. And with that comes the responsibility of paying taxes, like it or not, it’s part of being a landowner here.
You can start the Taxation side quest straight from your in-game menu. Just open the menu, go to the Journey tab, and scroll down to the Miscellaneous section. You’ll find a quest there called “Taxation.” To start the quest, make sure you’ve got at least 6,500 Solaris in your backpack that’s all you need to begin.
Taxation Quest Guide
Once you’ve gathered enough Solaris, head over to one of the two main hubs Arakeen or Harko Village. In either location, look for the Imperial Tax Representative. This NPC is the one who handles your tax payments whenever they’re due.
If you’re in Harko Village, you’ll find the Imperial Tax Representative on the east side of the main settlement. Over in Arrakeen, they’re located in the northwest part of the city hub. Just open your map and look for the shield icon, that’s where the tax NPC will be waiting.
Talk to them, and a small menu will pop up showing how much you owe and how much time you have left to pay. Clear the amount to avoid any penalties. The Taxation quest wraps up as soon as you speak to the Tax Representative. Once done, you’ll earn 100 XP as a reward for completing the quest.
