The treasure map of the island is part of the open world so it’s locked during the prologue. You need to re-visit the island after you’ve obtained the Jackdaw and the open world is explorable. Head to the marked location shown on the above Cape Bonavista Island map image to reach the location where the treasure map is located. If you’ve been to this spot during the prologue, you must’ve noticed that the area that was blocked before is now open to exploration. You’ll find the treasure map by looting the skeleton.
Treasure Location

The treasure is buried on the Cape Bonavista island itself, make your way to the marked location shown on the map, it’s just past the second synchronization spot of the island.


At the marked location, identify the landmark given in the treasure map. Go through the cave’s entrance to reach the treasure location.

At the very end of the cave, there’s a small puddle of water where you’ll get a prompt to dig up. Dip up the treasure to collect the 1500 Reales reward.
