Bloody Cipher Machine Solution – Lies of P Overture DLC

The Bloody Cipher Machine is a side quest in the Lies of P: Overture DLC that reawards you with a weapon if you complete the puzzle. It begins once you’ve beat a boss and acquire a peculiar machine. You’ll then have to decipher a clue, find a stuffed crocodile, and report back. We will guide you through each step to finish the quest and acquire the Whirlwind Amulet in the game.

How to Find the Bloody Cipher Machine

First, you need to defeat the Two-Faced Overseer boss to get the Bloody Cipher Machine. The Two-Faced Overseer is a tough boss who fights with a massive battle axe and becomes even more dangerous when enraged. When you beat the Two-Faced Overseer, you’ll be rewarded with the Full Moonstone of the Covenant and the Bloody Cipher Machine, which starts a hidden side quest also drops rare Ergo, which is super valuable.

Once you beat him, the machine will automatically drop. After that, go back to the Eventide Hotel and talk to the Tracker NPC. Select the option to “Decrypt a cipher machine.” After decoding, you will see a picture of a stuffed crocodile.

How to Solve the Bloody Cipher Machine

Now, head to the Hall of Adventure. Go straight up the stairs, turn left, and enter the first door you see. Inside, you will find the stuffed crocodile from the picture. Walk up to the crocodile display, and you’ll see an option to “Press the button.” Hit it, and you’ll receive the collectible called Confession: Crocodile Necropsy Report. Head back to the Tracker and talk to them. Choose the first dialogue option, “Report on the Dark Secrets.” That’ll wrap up the Bloody Cipher Machine quest, and as a reward, you’ll receive the Whirlwind Amulet.
