Avowed The Siege Of Paradis Quest Guide – All Choices

The Siege of Paradis in Avowed confronts players with a critical decision, presenting them with the result of their previous choices and making crucial decisions that will determine the destiny of the Living Lands. When the player arrives in Dawnshore, Paradis is already being attacked by the Steel Garrote, initiating a battle with broad consequences. This walkthrough provides the significant decisions players are presented with in this quest, describing what happens if players choose to align with either the rulers of Paradis or the Inquisitor Lodwyn and the Steel Garrote. Both options result in unique consequences, varying from the conquest of the Living Lands to the declaration of their independence, and eventually lead to a final battle that challenges the character’s will.

All Choices of The Siege Of Paradis Quest Guide

Okay, so you’ve made this big choice about Sapadal, right? But Avowed doesn’t let you catch your breath. You get to Dawnshore, and it’s chaos – fires, smoke, the whole nine yards. Clearly, things went south while you were off in that Garden place.

Turns out, Paradis is getting hammered by the Steel Garrote. You race over there, and it’s a mess. People are living in tents, and all the important folks – the leaders, the ambassador – are huddled together, trying to figure out how to survive. Basically, another “what do we do now?” moment.

Fight With the Lodwyn

Okay, so instead of siding with the bad guys, you stick with the leaders and the ambassador. Good choice! Now you’ve got to figure out what happens to the Living Lands. You’ve got a few options, and they all lead to a final showdown with Lodwyn, but the endings vary wildly.

Here’s the breakdown:

  • Become a Colony of Aedyr: Basically, you’re handing the Living Lands over to the Aedyran Empire. Think of it like a takeover. You’ll see Aedyran soldiers everywhere, and everyone has to follow their rules. It’s not a total disaster, but it’s definitely not ideal.
  • Attempt a Grefram: This is kind of a middle ground. The regions get some freedom, but they’re still under Aedyr’s thumb. The Emperor sends over a ruler – probably the Envoy, if you’ve been playing your cards right – to keep things in order. You get protection, but you also get taxes and Aedyran laws. It’s a compromise.
  • United Living Lands: This is the ideal outcome. Everyone’s free! No more outside control, no more taxes, just everyone running their own show. It’s the best ending, but it’s probably the hardest to achieve.

And through all of this, your companions stay by your side. You’ll still have to fight Lodwyn, but at least you won’t be alone. The leaders will have varying degrees of hapiness depending on your choices.

Side With the Lodwyn

Okay, so you decide to throw your lot in with Lodwyn and the Steel Garrote. Big mistake. Seriously, everyone ditches you. Your companions? Gone. The leaders you were working with? They won’t even look at you. You’re completely on your own.

And then the game just throws wave after wave of enemies at you. It’s brutal, especially without backup. Eventually, you get to Lodwyn, and you tell her you’re with her now. But she doesn’t trust you, of course. She wants proof. She demands you publicly denounce Sapadal and kneel before her.

Here’s where it gets really ugly:

  • If you do kneel: She’ll deceive you. The second your knee touches the floor, she beheads you. It’s a “lesson” for anyone else contemplating betraying her. Game over, bad ending.
  • If you refuse: You’re going to have to endure a massive, three-staged boss fight. And you’re doing this solo. It’s a nightmare battle, and even if you do emerge victorious, it culminates in a bad ending.

Basically, siding with Lodwyn is a guaranteed disaster. There’s no way to win.
