On the vast and treacherous world of Avowed’s Galawain’s Tusks, the “A Cure for Rage” quest invites the adventurer with an infusion of curiosity and ingenuity. Commissioned by the concerned Warden Lerae to find a missing caravan, adventurers soon find themselves on a hidden mission, led to a quest that is all about personal feelings masked by deception. To bring relief to a captive and determine the course of an ogre’s existence is dependent upon obtaining these materials, and only then does it provide the potential for benevolent assistance or deadly conflict.
A Cure For Rage Quest
A Cure for Rage is a side quest located in the Galawain’s Tusks region of Avowed. When you first arrive in Galawain’s Tusks, follow the main road until you encounter Warden Lerae standing in the middle. After speaking with her, she’ll explain that she mistook you for the next group of Aedyran traders and expresses concern about the first caravan, which hasn’t returned from Solace.
She asks you to check on their well-being, particularly a dwarf named Gilyn. If you pry a bit and have enough Perception, you’ll learn that Lerae is actually deeply infatuated with Gilyn, which explains her urgency to find him.
Antimycotic Moss Avowed Location
The Anti-Mycotic Moss is one of the three ingredients required for the A Cure for Rage quest. You can find it at the southern edge of the quest marker’s circle, roughly at the five o’clock position if you imagine the circle as a clock face.
When you arrive, look for a rock crest with a petrified tree at the top. Climb up the rocks, and at the roots of the tree, you’ll spot the moss clustered together. You’ll also encounter some combat here, but it’s just regular Galawain’s Tusk enemies, unrelated to the quest. Feel free to grab the moss and retreat if you prefer.
Next up is the Jar of Gunpowder Snuff, which is the easiest item to find. The quest marker leads you to the Southern Warden’s Tower in the Sallow Steppe region. Inside, head straight for a bookshelf, where you’ll find the jar waiting for you. This tower also has the cartographer for the Mapping The Living Lands – Galawain’s Tusk’s quest, so it’s worth noting if you’re working on that as well.
The last ingredient is the Calcified Fire Beetle Nest. If you’re still using the clock face idea, this one is located just past the nine o’clock mark. Head to the area marked on your map, and you’ll find the beetle nests clustered against a wall. Collect them and make your way back to the Ogre’s den to deliver the goods.
Once you’ve gathered all three ingredients, return to Grakohr with them. He’ll use the supplies to free his captive and reward you with a Stoneheart Amulet, which lets you summon a Small Ruinous Blight. At this point, the quest will be complete. If you chose to fight him instead of helping, though, things wouldn’t be as friendly, and you might not feel so good about your actions.
