The Ancient Fire Sanctuary in Windrose tests more than your sword arm – it’s a layered puzzle of dark corridors, pressure plate tricks and four broken Firebowl braziers that must be found and rekindled to claim the hidden cache. This guide shows the quickest route through each level, the environmental cues that point to every brazier, every treasure that you can claim in vicinity so you spend less time backtracking and more time looting the reward.
Ancient Fire Sanctuary Location
The Ancient Fire Sanctuary can be found at the main quest location – Needle in a Haystack following a sub-quest where you have to search a camp near the ruins. You need to clear the area before proceeding as it’s occupied by enemy pirates.
Firebowls Location
You need to obtain 3 firebowls to solve the main puzzle of the ruins.
Obtaining First Firebowl
You’ll notice 2 pressure plates on the ground on either side of the main platform at the center of the ruins. You can also notice that there is a heavy vase nearby these pressure plates, you need to place the vase on both the pressure plates, this will unlock the doors at the center.
Go through the doors and you’ll find the first firebowl. You need to get to the lower levels of the ruins with the firebowl but make sure you have the lantern with you because it’s very dark down there.
Obtaining Second Firebowl
You’ll find the second fireball in a room on the upper level as shown in the above image which is to the left while coming out of the room where you found the first firebowl.
Obtaining Third Firebowl
You can find the third firebowl on the middle level but the path to get it is kind of busted, so you’ve to use pickaxe on the pillar, it’ll form a path for you to get above.
Solving the Ancient Fire Sanctuary Puzzle
Then place and fix the firebowls in place and light them up, this will unlock the door to the main treasure chest and you can claim your rewards.
Finding All Ancient Chests
Scout for this camp near the ruins and you’ll find the first treasure chest at the camp. Then go around to the back and you’ll find the second chest.
Then from the point where you found the first chest, take left and head above the ruins and follow the path as shown in the first image and you’ll find the third treasure that you can claim from the skeleton.
Remember the entrance where you found the first firebowl? Before you enter the room, you’ll notice that there’s a path to the left, head inside and you can loot the skeleton which counts as the fourth treasure.
You can find the fifth ancient chest in the same room to the right where you found the first firebowl.
Then come out to the center of the ruins and head to the marked room as shown in the above image and you’ll notice a dilapidated wall to your left, break it using a pickaxe.
Just after you’ve broken the wall, you’ll notice another dilapidated wall to your immediate left, break it and you’ll find the sixth ancient chest.
For the final ancient chest, you’d have to pick up the heavy vase and head through the point area as shown in the above image.
You’ll come across another pressure plate, place the vase on it and it will unlock the door to the left inside which lies an ancient chest for you to claim.
With this not only you’ve completed the Ancient Fire Sanctuary puzzle but also claimed all the treasures spread throughout the ruins.
