If you are trying to find all the Vault Key Fragments in Borderlands 4 to open the Primordial Vault, this guide will help you out. These fragments are spread across three big areas: The Fadefields, Carcadia Burn, and Terminus Range. Some are easy to spot, while others are hidden in places like caves, rooftops, or behind vents. All Vault Key Fragment Locations
There are a total of 9 Vault Key Fragments that you need to find in order to open 3 doors in The Fadefields, Carcadia Burn, and Terminus Range area. Below are the exact locations of all the vault key fragments.
The Fadefields Vault Key Fragments
The Fadefields Vault in Borderlands 4 is located on a hilltop, near a place called Zaldra’s Backup Plan. You will need to fight through the wreckage of an old ship. Once you reach the Vault door, interact with it to activate the mechanism. Then, place all your collected key fragments into the slot that appears, and the door will open.
Coastal Bonescape
Head to the Stockroom SILO in the Coastal Bonescape area of the Fadefields. Once you have unlocked the fast travel point, go west toward the shore until you reach a place called Stillshore. Look around the houses there, the Vault Key Fragment is kept on a wooden box just outside one of them.
The Howl
Go to the Kit Hole SILO in The Howl region of the Fadefields. The Vault Key Fragment here is tucked into the side of a stone structure, so keep your eyes open while exploring.
Dissected Plateau
The Deep Seven SILO is found in the Dissected Plateau area. To get the Vault Key Fragment, head to Rosemary’s Reserve in the Idolator’s Noose region. Look for a vent you can open with your grapple, the fragment is just past it.
Carcadia Burn Vault Key Fragments
Carcadia Burn is the desert area in the game. The SILOs and Vault Key Fragments are spread out across the region.
Lopside
Find the Rustic Hurl SILO in the Grindstone of the Worthy area. After unlocking it, fast travel to the Makeshift Chalet safehouse in Lopside. From the safehouse, go south, you will find the Vault Key Fragment on the roof of a gas station.
Ruined Sumplands
Look for the Judgement’s Lapse SILO in the Ruined Sumplands. The Vault Key Fragment is close to a place called Hull’s Handbasket, near the water. Drop down from a small cliff and you will see it.
Tonnage Peel
Go to the Site Unseen SILO in Tonnage Peel. Head over to the Wreck of the Last Great Hope, go inside, and use your grapple to open a vent door, that’s where the Vault Key Fragment is.
Terminus Range Vault Key Fragments
Terminus Range is a snowy area with mountains and caves. Most of the Vault Key Fragments here are easy to find.
Cuspid Climb
You will need to find both the Reliquary SILO and the Covered Charge SILO here. The Vault Key Fragment is in a cave, away from the main path.
The Low Leys
Go to the Deathright SILO in the Low Leys area. The Vault Key Fragment is located at a point of interest called The Pit, just climb up a small ledge to find it.
Windspear
The final Vault Key Fragment is near the border of Windspear, close to Checkpoint Taupe and Vestal Garrison. Go inside the building nearby and head up to the office area on the second floor, the fragment will be there.
