Tokaido is one of the main open areas in Nioh 3. It is filled with enemies, small towns and hidden areas that contain a lot of collectibles. These collectibles can make your journey easier and your character stronger. As there are a lot of dangerous creatures in the Tokaido region, carry your best gear to defeat all of them. In this guide, we will show you where you can find all Tokaido Collectibles like Samurai’s Locks, Kodama, Hot Springs, Jizo, Scampuss, and Secret Skills in Nioh 3.
All Tokaido Collectables in Nioh 3
Tokaido has small towns and enemy bases that are ruled by dangerous creatures. Most of the area is open fields, scattered trees, and small houses. You can freely explore Tokaido outside the missions without returning to the main hub each time. Here is the list of all the collectibles you will find in the Tokaido region.
Samurai’s Locks Locations
Samurai’s Lock is a usable item that gives you one Samurai skill point. You can get it as a mission reward or find it during the missions. It is a lock of hair taken from a fallen Samurai. It is believed that the hair of the dead Samurai has special powers offering strength and protection.
Samurai’s Locks #1


This Samurai’s Lock is found by completing the Insatiable Hunter side quest. The quest starts when you talk to a spirit on the path. You will find the spirit towards the east of the Tokaido shrine. The quest will take you towards the Ferry area in the east near the enemy base.


Now, find Taro’s body in a small, hidden space behind some crates next to a shack. Taro’s spirit will appear in a house beside the road, southwest of the Ikeda Ferry shrine. You need to defeat the Gaki Chief on the roads to complete the quest. Once finished, Taro’s spirit will give you the Samurai’s Lock.
Samurai’s Locks #2


This Samurai’s Lock is rewarded by completing the Desecrated Hot Spring quest. To start the quest, talk to the spirit near a tree at the Desecrated Hot Spring. The quest requires you to clear an enemy base at the southern end of Tokaido. After finishing the quest, you will get the Samurai’s Lock.
Samurai’s Locks #3


This Samurai’s Lock is found on a body in an area patrolled by a Mezuki. It is in the western corner of Tokaido, southwest of the Ikeda Ferry shrine. Sneak behind the Mezuki around the edges of the area and loot the body.
Samurai’s Locks #4


The final Samurai’s Lock can be found on a body in the far southwest corner of the Tokaido region. Clear out all the enemies nearby. Now, you can loot the body to get this Samurai’s Lock.
Kodama Location
Kodama are tiny spirits that are green in colour. You can find them sitting on top of shrines. Some of them are lost in the world and need your help to find their way back to a nearby shrine. As you explore and guide more Kodama, you will be rewarded with items. The more Kodama you rescue, the more elixir you can carry, which can make battles much easier.
Kodama #1


The first Kodama is found on the west side of the Tokaido region. Head southeast of the Tokaido shrine. It is sitting on the tree stump just near the shrine.
Kodama #2


Head to the southern part of the Tokaido region. This Kodama is found sitting on a rock in the middle of a pond.
Kodama #3



Go inside the enemy base in the northeast of the Tokaido region. You will find the Kodama just east of the Ikeda Ferry Shrine. Once the base is cleared, the Kodama will be available, and it will start guiding you home.
Hot Springs Location


Tokaido hot spring is found on the southern side of Tokaido, just beyond the enemy base. When you reach it, interact with the hot spring to get 2 Yokai Teardrops as a reward.
Jizo Location


The Six Jizo statues can be found along a path going towards the southern part of the Tokaido region. Follow the road that takes you toward the Lesser Crucible and the Desecrated Hot Spring, and you will find all six statues on the right side of the road.
Scampuss Location
Scampuss are special NPCs that are Yokai and look like round cats. They will run away when you try to pet them. Every Scampuss will lead you to a place where you can find useful items. Chase the Scampuss when it runs away to pet it and get rewards.
Scampuss #1


You can find a Scampuss in the southern part of the Tokaido region. When you interact with it, the Scampuss will start moving and will take you to a nearby useful item that has a Ninja Text. Once the Scampuss stops moving, pet it, and you will get Scampuss Furball Soul Core as a reward.
Scampuss #2


You will find this Scampuss along the road near the shrine. If you try to pet it, it will run away. Chase after it, and if you are able to catch it, pet it again to get Samurai’s Locks, a Yokai Teardrop, and a Scampuss Furball.
Secret Skills Location
Secret Skills are rare, permanent abilities that give your character powerful moves in the game. Once you find a secret skill, you will not need to spend any skill points, but it will use the skill capacity.
Ninja’s Text


The Ninja’s Text is hidden inside a chest beneath the Torii gate. The Torii gate on a pond in the southern part of the Tokaido.
Samurai’s Text


You can find the Samurai’s Text inside a chest hidden in a cave at the southern end of the Tokaido region. Look for a cave entrance nearby. Once you are inside, there will be a small opening where you can crouch and head towards the chest.
Transformed Art: Swift Step Heavy


Transformed Art: Swift Step Heavy is unlocked after you defeat the Green Shadow’s Blade. You can find the enemy in the southeast part of the Tokaido region. Use your best weapons to defeat the enemy and collect the secret skill.
Tachi Arts


You can find Tachi Arts in the southern end of the Tokaido region. To reach it, break the Crucible Spikes blocking the path. Once the path is open, check the body on the cliff to get Tachi Arts’s secret skill.
Roaring Dragon Deflect


The Roaring Dragon Deflect secret skill is found inside the hut. The hut is behind the Green Shadow’s Blade enemy. After defeating the enemy, go inside the hut and open the chest to find the Roaring Dragon Deflect secret skill.
