In Dynasty Warriors Origins, Old Coins can be collected throughout the game world and are found hiding here and there. They are also acquired by completing quests and developing relationships with officers. You will need to collect them since these coins are used to redeem great rewards at the Shui Jing Retreat in You Province. These reward items range from in-game currency and rare accessories to very powerful items, which you will use to aid you in your journey to conquer the Three Kingdoms.
All Old Coin Locations
At the start of your journey, you will find Old Coins mainly scattered across the world map. As you venture out, you will notice a golden glow in some areas, meaning that an Old Coin is ready to be picked up. To locate more coins more effectively, use the ‘Eyes of the Sacred Bird’ ability. This special skill will make the golden glows of nearby coins more visible, allowing you to spot them from a greater distance.
Collecting all Old Coins in Dynasty Warriors: Origins is a real challenge! You can find them in various ways:
- Study of the World Map: Pay attention to glimmering spots.
- Building relationships with officers: Completing their requests and strengthening your bonds often rewards you with coins.
- Finding and reading letters: Some of the letters have secret coin rewards.
- Keeping the peace: Keeping a region in order will reward you with extra coins.
- Conquering Ultimate Warrior battles: These hard fights reward much more coins.
A clever way to get more coins is to replay the campaign after finishing it. You can choose to join a different faction, which often unlocks new coin opportunities that you might have missed during your first playthrough.

How to Use Old Coin in Dynasty Warriors Origins
In Dynasty Warriors Origins, you can’t use Old Coins until you reach Chapter 2. Once you do, you’ll unlock the Shui Jing Retreat, an inn in the You Province. At the Retreat, you can check your relationships with NPCs, see which NPCs are nearby, and most importantly, claim rewards for collecting Old Coins. The number of Old Coins you collect determines the rewards you receive.
