If you want to move past the standard monster-themed armor in Monster Hunter Wilds, there are secret armor sets that give you a twist. These secret sets aren’t made from the standard monster materials but rather demand rare, hard-to-find resources. Some of these resources are so rare that you may not even know they exist until you find them. Unlocking just one of these special items will make the set available at Gemma’s smithy, but crafting the full gear will demand multiple pieces, along with more common materials. From regionally inspired outfits to returning favorites like Death Stench, these secret sets provide unique abilities and aesthetics that set them apart.
Secret Armor Sets
Most of the weapons and armor are what you’d be led to expect, they’re modeled after the monsters you kill and only use material from those monsters to craft. But the secret sets are not like that. They use exotic material you don’t even know you can get, opening up whole new pieces of gear. That’s what makes them hidden, naturally.
Once you obtain just one of these rare materials, the corresponding set becomes available at Gemma’s smithy. But don’t lose track of where you found them, you will need more than just one to craft a full set. Besides the secret material, you’ll also need additional, more common resources to complete them. There are actually several of these smaller pieces of equipment, including the Kranodath Mail and Comaqchi Accessory which can be obtained by defeating the smaller monsters.
