In Nioh 2, Kodama are tiny spirit-like NPCs scattered throughout the game. Finding and guiding them back to the nearest Shrine gives you special bonuses called Kodama Blessings, which help you during your journey. There are 150 Kodama in total, and collecting all of them unlocks the Kodama Leader trophy. This guide will help you locate every Kodama in each mission.
All Kodama Locations
In Nioh 2, there are 150 Kodama to find. Collecting all of them unlocks the Kodama Leader trophy. Kodama are tiny spirit NPCs that you can discover throughout the game. When you find a Kodama, interact with it and guide it back to the nearest Shrine. Doing this will activate a Kodama Blessing for that area, giving you special bonuses from the Shrine. Be careful not all Kodama are easy to approach. If you attack near them, they will hide and won’t respond. Wait for them to come out of their bowl before interacting.
Awakening Region
The Awakening region is the first chapter of Nioh 2. In this area, there are 25 Kodama to find. Below is a list of all the Kodama locations in this region to help you track and collect them.
The Village of Cursed Blossoms – 7 Kodama
The Village of Cursed Blossoms is a main mission in Nioh 2. It’s recommended for players around level 1 and has a difficulty level of 2. In this mission, you will face both human enemies and yokai. Your main goal is to find the cherry tree where the sender of the letter is waiting.
Kodama 1


When you spot the patrolling Gozuki, don’t fight it yet. Carefully move around it and you will pass a cherry blossom tree. Keep heading up toward the right side. Near a tree, you will see a dead body with a Kodama standing right next to it. That’s your first one.
Kodama 2


After dealing with your first Enki Yokai and clearing the misty area, turn left at the corner of the nearby house. A Gaki will block your path take it out. Just ahead, there’s another Gaki feeding on a corpse. Kill it, loot the body if you want, then look to your left. You will spot another lost Kodama there.
Kodama 3


When you reach the area filled with houses and human enemies, head toward the wooden bridge. On the left side of the bridge, you will see a stack of wooden boxes. Break them and go around the back of the houses. At the very end corner of one house, you will find another Kodama waiting to be rescued.
Kodama 4

Near the small tombstone where the second Dark Realm mist appears, there’s an open, empty house. Right by the entrance, you will notice some baskets tied together. Break them, and you will find a Kodama hiding behind them.
Kodama 5

After defeating the Yoki that creates the second mist, check the left corner of the nearby house. There’s a large wooden box there. Smash it, then move forward a bit to find another Kodama.
Kodama 6


As you approach the small red torii gate where three human enemies are waiting (an archer, an axe user, and a samurai), look at the right corner of the gate. Another Kodama is tucked away there.
Kodama 7


The final Kodama is just before the boss area. After reaching the third shrine, look immediately to the left of the gate ahead. It’s hidden behind the open gate door, so make sure to check carefully before moving on.
The Forest Veiled in Darkness – 2 Kodama
The Forest Veiled in Darkness is a side mission in Nioh 2. It is for the players who are at least level 4 and have a difficulty rating of 2. During this mission, there will be a fight with not only the human enemies but also the yokai. Your task is to inspect the bandit camp, which seems to be stealing and using Spirit Stones. This side quest is unlocked right after finishing the primary quest, The Village of Cursed Blossoms.
Kodama 1


The first Kodama is located in the middle of the map. There is a dead tree with yellow-glowing mushrooms on it. One of the mushrooms has the Kodama, who is resting on a stone under the tree. You will need to destroy the mushroom first to reveal it.
Kodama 2


The second and final Kodama is on the far left side of the map. From the starting Kodama tree, take the mountain trail all the way around to where a house with a few chests is. The Kodama is hidden right at the back of one of these chests outside the house.
The Beast Born of Smoke and Flames – 7 Kodama
The Beast Born of Smoke and Flames is one of the main quests in Nioh 2. The level is about 8 for the players, and the difficulty is set at 3. During this quest, human enemies and yokai will be your opponents. Your mission will be to find out what is going on in Tatara, and at the same time, do a favour for Saito Dosan (Master Dosan).
Kodama 1


The first Kodama is hiding behind a house on the east side of the area. Look near the slope that leads up to a well-built house, and you will find it tucked away at the back.
Kodama 2

The second Kodama is on top of a house. It’s hidden behind some sacks on the rooftop. To get there, use the wooden plank that leads up to the roof near the white torii gate that takes you toward the Ippon-Datara.
Kodama 3


You can find the third Kodama in the cave beneath the shrine where you first meet Senji Toyo. Head inside and look behind the stacked wooden boxes. There’s also a Gaki hiding there, so be ready before you break the boxes.
Kodama 4


The fourth Kodama is underground, close to the village covered by the Dark Realm. On the west side of the village, near the Dark Realm entrance, you will see a barn. This is also where you encounter a Dweller for the first time. Climb down the ladder inside the barn, break the wooden boxes, and you will find the Kodama behind them.
Kodama 5


The fifth Kodama is just outside the entrance to the Great Forge. Go around the left corner of the torii gate, and you will spot it at the back. Watch out, though, a Gaki is guarding this one.
Kodama 6


The sixth Kodama is on a rooftop. Start by climbing to the second floor of the Burning Forge, where you will run into an Enki. From there, climb the ladder that leads outside onto the roof of the Great Forge. The Kodama is sitting at the north-west edge of the rooftop.
Kodama 7

The final Kodama is inside the Great Forge on the third level. Look behind a pillar near a large chest and a bucket of water. You will encounter a grown Gaki in this area, so clear it out before guiding the Kodama back.
Dark Omens – 3 Kodama
Dark Omens is a side mission in Nioh 2. It’s recommended for players around level 13 and has a difficulty of level 2. In this mission, you will face both human enemies and yokai. Your objective is to investigate the area and search for clues about Master Dosan’s missing merchant. This mission becomes available after completing the side mission A Voice in the Twilight.
Kodama 1


At the very start of the mission, follow the main path and check inside the first house on the right. You will find two enemies inside, and the Kodama is hiding behind some objects. Destroy the objects first to reveal it.
Kodama 2


Continue up the hill until you reach a fork in the road. Take the right path into the corrupted Yokai Realm. Behind the Yokai Realm, you will see stairs leading up. About halfway up the staircase, there’s an opening to the left. Head through it to find the Kodama.
Kodama 3

Go back to the fork and take the left path this time. You will reach the area where a cyclops rolls a big rock down the path. The Kodama is located here, but you can’t collect it while the cyclops is active. Either defeat the cyclops or sneak away and come back once it’s no longer patrolling.
The Viper’s Sanctum – 6 Kodama
The Viper’s Sanctum is a main mission in Nioh 2. It’s recommended for players around level 15 and has a difficulty of level 3. In this mission, you will face both human enemies and yokai. Your main goal is to find and rescue Saito Dosan.
Kodama 1


Starting from the first shrine, walk straight ahead and then turn right. You will enter a small enclosed area with a few wooden boxes inside. Break the boxes and you will find the first Kodama hiding there.
Kodama 2


From the first shrine again, go straight and turn right, just like before. This time, keep following the path until you reach a large house in the middle of the area. Don’t go inside the house, walk around the outside instead, and you will find another Kodama along the side.
Kodama 3


From the second shrine, take the left path toward the circular central area. If you’ve already unlocked the shortcut by breaking the fake wall, you can use that route. If not, just follow the normal path you will end up in the same place. Keep going until you see a small path on the left with a puddle. Look near the rocks by the water, and you will spot a Kodama hiding there.
Kodama 4

The fourth Kodama is located in the inner sanctum. Look underneath the broken bridge, where there’s a pool of poison below. The Kodama is hidden right under the bridge.
Kodama 5


Head to the cave on the east side of the area, where a Nure-Onna patrols. Inside the cave, check behind a dead body. That’s where this Kodama is hiding.
Kodama 6

The final Kodama is near the large red torii gate. You will run into a Toxic Slime and another Nure-Onna here. Defeat them, then look just behind the Toxic Slime’s spot to find the last Kodama.
Soaring Region
The Soaring region is the second chapter of Nioh 2. There are 25 Kodama to find here. Below is a list of all the Kodama locations in this area to help you collect them.
The Hidden Monsters of Okehazama – 7 Kodama
The Hidden Monsters of Okehazama is a main mission in Nioh 2. It’s recommended for players around level 21 and has a difficulty of level 4. In this mission, you will face both human enemies and yokai. Your goal is to defeat the enemy general on the other side of the yokai-infested mountain.
Kodama 1


The first Kodama is inside the cave near where the mission begins. Move through the cave until you reach the second room, the one where you fight an Enki. The Kodama is hidden in this area, so make sure to look around before moving on.
Kodama 2


From the first Kodama’s area, head back to the room with several Gaki. From there, take the slope on the right that leads to another path. You will run into another Enki here. After defeating it, keep moving straight toward the dead end. The Kodama is hiding behind some wooden crates at the end.
Kodama 3


Exit the cave where you found the first two Kodama and take the steep uphill path outside. This leads into a small forest area where you will encounter a Nure-Onna. Once it’s dealt with, check behind the tall grass nearby to find the third Kodama.
Kodama 4

From the second shrine, go down the slope right next to it and enter the cave below. Follow the candles until you reach a large room with two Nure-Onna and a Gaki. Clear out the enemies, then head toward the broken red torii gate. Take the path on the left, and at the dead end, you will find the fourth Kodama.
Kodama 5


The fifth Kodama is in the Dark Realm near the area where you fight the One-eyed Oni that creates the Dark Realm. After you defeat it and the area returns to normal, go to the shrine in the center of the area. Look to the left, and you will spot the Kodama standing quietly in the bushes.
Kodama 6

You can find the sixth Kodama at the far end of a small village covered by the Dark Realm. Look around the corner of a broken-down house, and you will see Kodama waiting there.
Kodama 7

The final Kodama is close to the mission objective. Walk around the barricades on the left until you reach a burning tree. On the right side, there’s a small enclosed area. Look behind the sacks inside, and you will find the last Kodama.
The Mysterious One Night Castle – 7 Kodama
The Mysterious One Night Castle is a main mission in Nioh 2. It’s recommended for players around level 28 and has a difficulty of level 5. In this mission, you will face both human enemies and yokai. Your objective is to head to a fort that will be used to build a castle for Lord Nobunaga.
Kodama 1


From the first shrine, head down the path that goes under the bridge. Turn left, then right, and walk up the leaf-covered hill. Follow it all the way to the end and you will find the first Kodama waiting there.
Kodama 2


The second Kodama is near the second Kodama shrine, inside the rest house. Go up to the second floor, step outside, and break the box you see there. The Kodama is hiding inside.
Kodama 3

The third Kodama is on a rooftop inside the inner section of the fort. From the second Dark Realm, go to the house where you fought an Enki and head up to the balcony. From the ledge, carefully drop down onto the roof below. You will find the Kodama on top.
Kodama 4

This Kodama is also inside the fort’s inner area. From the house, head down and go straight toward a fenced enclosure. You will see two large open chests with two Gaki guarding them. Defeat the enemies, then check behind the chest on the left to find the Kodama.
Kodama 5

Before you can get this one, you will need to close the floodgate to open the shortcut leading back to the second Kodama shrine. Once that’s done, explore the lower area and climb up a ladder that leads into a locked room inside a house. The Kodama is in that same room.
Kodama 6



The sixth Kodama is in a tricky spot that requires dropping down from higher ground. You will see it near a waterfall where you run into a Nure-Onna, a Karakasa Umbrella, and an Aberrant Soldier.
To reach it, first close the floodgate. Then head down into the pit near the first hot spring. Look for a ladder nearby and climb it to come out on the east side of the forest. From there, follow the path and drop down to reach Kodama.
Kodama 7

From the same area where you found the second Sudama, walk up the slope until you reach the top. Look to your right, and you will see a spot where you can drop down onto the top of a large torii gate. The final Kodama is sitting right on top of the gate.
A Hot-blooded Howl – 5 Kodama
A Hot-blooded Howl is a side mission in Nioh 2. It’s recommended for players around level 30 and has a difficulty level of 4. In this mission, you will face both human enemies and yokai. Your task is to find and help Maeda Toshiie, who is fighting alone. This mission becomes available after completing the main mission The Mysterious One Night Castle.
Kodama 1

Starting from the mission’s beginning, check behind the right side of the big temple. You will find some enemies here. Behind a stone lantern, the first Kodama is sitting quietly.
Kodama 2

From the same starting point, look behind the stairs on the left side of the big temple, where an archer is stationed. The Kodama is hiding there.
Kodama 3


After the second shrine, you will enter an underground area and meet a friendly NPC with a spear. In the next room, you will encounter a Waira enemy. Take the path straight ahead, then the next left into a corridor with two Dweller enemies. On the left side of this corridor is a hidden wall with glowing red eyes. You can make it disappear by performing a gesture of the correct color (blue, yellow, or red). You have two attempts if the second guess is wrong, the wall becomes hostile and must be defeated. Behind this hidden wall is the third Kodama.
Kodama 4

From the hidden wall, continue to the other end of the corridor where there’s a fire arrow trap. Kodama is sitting next to this trap, just before returning to the room with the big Waira.
Kodama 5


The final Kodama for this mission is on the right side of the big red door that leads to the mission’s boss. It’s tucked away there, waiting to be collected.
The Hollow Fortress – 6 Kodama
The Hollow Fortress is a main mission in Nioh 2. It’s recommended for players around level 33 and has a difficulty of level 4. In this mission, you will face both human enemies and yokai. Your goal is to infiltrate Inabayama Castle and defeat Saito Yoshitatsu.
Kodama 1


From the first shrine, walk straight ahead until you reach the end of the path and climb the ladder. On the second level, there’s another ladder right in front of you climb that too. Once you’re up top, cross the wooden bridge and check the right side. The Kodama is hiding behind some sacks.
Kodama 2


The second Kodama is on a platform below the first Dark Realm. Start by using the elevator. About halfway through, run toward the Dark Realm area. Move around the wooden planks until you reach the edge, then look down. You will spot the Kodama below you on a platform.
Kodama 3

This Kodama is in the upper area outside the castle. From the prison section, head to the level just below the very top. From there, use the stone platforms to carefully work your way up to the upper section outside the castle walls, where you will find the Kodama.
Kodama 4


The fourth Kodama is on the watchtower near the gate that leads into the castle. To reach it, follow a narrow stone path close to the second Kodama shrine. Along the way, you will run into a few Dweller yokai and Snowclops. Clear them out, then continue to the watchtower to find the Kodama.
Kodama 5

The fifth Kodama is easy to miss. It’s tucked away at a corner on the east side, just outside the castle’s main entrance. Check the edges carefully and you will find it.
Kodama 6



For the last Kodama, you will need the Castle Gate Key first. After getting the key, unlock the east gate and enter through the side entrance. Inside the corridor, you will see several samurai armor displays. Destroy the fourth one to reveal the hidden Kodama.
Shadow Region
The Shadow region is the third chapter of Nioh 2. There are 25 Kodama to discover here. Below is a list of all the Kodama locations in this area to help you find them.
A Way Out – 7 Kodama
A Way Out is a main mission in Nioh 2. It’s recommended for players around level 59 and has a difficulty of level 5. In this mission, you will face both human enemies and yokai. Your objective is to find and follow Mumyo while retreating from Kanegasaki.
Kodama 1

You can find the first Kodama right near the start of the mission. After entering the forest, head west. You will run into a soldier, an armored dog, and an archer deal with them first. Then go up the stairs toward the cliff where the archer was. From there, jump down from the roof of the nearby house and check the corner below. The Kodama is hiding there.
Kodama 2


The second Kodama is in the area with the moving spotlight. Before you reach the small hut straight ahead, look to the west side. You will find the Kodama tucked away behind some slanted wooden planks.
Kodama 3

After passing the spotlight area and reaching the small hut, you will come to a split path. Take the east path toward a large hut where several soldiers are guarding the area. Just outside the hut, look for a large pot. Break it to find the Kodama inside.
Kodama 4


From the second shrine, move forward until you spot a Biwa-Boku-boku sitting on a tree branch. Defeat it, then go around the corner and climb up toward where it was perched. At the edge of the branch, you will see a corpse. Jump down to the lower branch below, and you will find the Kodama there.
Kodama 5

The fifth Kodama is in the second spotlight area, which is being patrolled by Mitsume Yazura. First, clear the Dark Realm. After that, look for a One-Eyed Imp standing near some bushes at a corner. Defeat it, then check the spot where it was standing. The Kodama is hiding in the bushes.
Kodama 6

You can find the sixth Kodama underneath the stairs at the entrance of the temple. The path to the temple starts near where you found the fifth Kodama, so head that way and check beneath the stairs.
Kodama 7


From the third Kodama shrine, head toward the gate that leads to the boss at the end of the village. On the right side, there’s a house with a Yamanba and a large chest inside. Go out through the back of the house and check the corner where some large pots are placed. The final Kodama is hiding behind those pots.
Corpses and Ice – 8 Kodama
Corpses and Ice is a main mission in Nioh 2. It’s recommended for players around level 44 and has a difficulty of level 5. In this mission, you will face both human enemies and yokai. Your goal is to make your way through the battlefield at Anegawa and stop the chaos caused by Magara Naotaka.
Kodama 1


Right after you start, head into the courtyard where a few soldiers are patrolling. Go up the slope, turn left, and walk down the first set of stairs. Check the right-hand corner near some wooden boxes the first Kodama is hiding behind them.
Kodama 2

The second Kodama is near the starting area as well, inside the first Dark Realm. Look for a white house there. Just outside it, on the left side, you will see a wheelbarrow. Break it to reveal the Kodama.
Kodama 3


From the second shrine, go up the stairs and climb the ladder outside the building on the left. Once you’re at the top, follow the balcony all the way to the end. You will find some wooden boxes there, with a Kodama hiding behind them.
Kodama 4


From the second shrine, head into the central building where you fight Magara Takamoto. Go into the room on the left and look under the stairs. Check the cabinet shelf next to the small crates you will find the Kodama tucked away in the corner.
Kodama 5

After finding the fourth Kodama, go up the stairs and head outside toward the connected building. There’s an unaware soldier here that you can take out quietly. Once he’s dealt with, check the right side of the building near a small set of stairs. The Kodama is hiding in that corner.
Kodama 6

The sixth Kodama is inside the house to the left of the third shrine. Head inside and look toward the left corner, behind some stacked crates. You will find it hiding there.
Kodama 7

From the third shrine, cross the bridge and go up the stairs to reach the third Dark Realm. Move through the area until you find a path leading up onto the rooftops. On the rooftop, check near the wooden fences on your left to find the Kodama.
Kodama 8


After clearing the third Dark Realm, head down the slope where three soldiers were guarding the path. Nearby, you will find a Nurikabe wall. Either defeat it or use the correct gesture to pass through. Inside is a hot spring. From there, follow the path beside the spring until you reach a ladder. Climb down, walk around the area at the bottom, and you will find the final Kodama waiting at the end.
Bird In A Cage – 7 Kodama
Bird in a Cage is a main mission in Nioh 2. It’s recommended for players around level 71 and has a difficulty of level 4. In this mission, you will face both human enemies and yokai. Your task is to rescue Lady Oichi from Azai Nagamasa, who has locked himself in the castle tower.
Kodama 1

Go into the cave where you first fight the Spider yokai, then come back out into the courtyard. Turn right and head toward the destroyed house that’s on fire. Walk around to the back of it. You will see some planks and debris you can climb. Use them to get on top of the ruined house, where the first Kodama is waiting.
Kodama 2

After leaving the Spider yokai cave, go straight and take the uphill path on the left. You will run into an armored dog and a Yoki that rolls a barrel down at you. Once they’re dealt with, keep going up the path. About halfway up, there’s a destroyed house on the left. Check the corner near the grass, and you will find the second Kodama hiding there.
Kodama 3

The third Kodama is inside the cave where you first meet the rat yokai, Tesso. Make your way through the cave and climb the ladder at the end. When you reach the top, look to the left side of the ladder to find the Kodama.
To reach this cave, start from the Spider yokai cave near the beginning, exit into the courtyard, then go up the path where you fight a Yoki and an armored dog. Continue past the three soldiers, and the cave entrance will be on the left.
Kodama 4


From the second shrine, head up the slope and climb down the nearby ladder. Enter the cave on the left, then turn right toward the dirty water. Climb the ladder there, follow the corridor, and climb another ladder. You will reach a room with a roaming Tesso. The Kodama is in this room, right next to the wooden cave door on the left.
Kodama 5


The fifth Kodama is in the castle basement, where a Waira was guarding earlier. The entrance is close to the cave where you found the fourth Kodama. Head straight inside until you reach a small corner between a ladder and a set of stairs. Look behind the wooden barrels there to find the Kodama.
Kodama 6


This Kodama is on the second floor of the castle. First, you need to rotate both bridges using their levers so they line up. Cross the red bridge, then the purple one. On the purple bridge side, you will see a small room on the left. Go inside and break the crates on the right, the Kodama is hiding behind them.
Kodama 7

For the final Kodama, rotate the purple bridge so it connects to the castle tower. After that, head back down to the first floor and return to the room where you previously fought the large spiders. Enter the room on the left and interact with the rotating wall panel. You will notice a hole in the wooden floor, drop down through it to reach a hidden room with a hot spring. The last Kodama is inside this secret area.
The Golden Nation – 3 Kodama
The Golden Nation is a sub mission in Nioh 2. It’s recommended for players around level 50 and has a difficulty of level 3. In this mission, you will face both human enemies and yokai. Your goal is to find Lord Nobunaga’s missing messenger. This mission becomes available after completing the main mission Bird in a Cage.
Kodama 1

The first Kodama is right in the courtyard, straight ahead from the starting shrine.
Kodama 2


From the first Kodama, head to the end of the courtyard and climb the ladder up to the rooftops. Go all the way to the left to reach the top floor of a building. A Yoki (sword-wielding Yokai) is sitting in a corner defeat him, and Kodama is hiding right behind him.
Kodama 3

Stay on the rooftops and head to the top floor of the building on the right (from where you climbed the ladder in the courtyard). At the end of the roof beams, you will find the third and final Kodama of this level.
Dawn Region
The Dawn region is the fourth chapter in Nioh 2. There are 25 Kodama to find here. Below is a list of all the Kodama locations in this area to guide you.
Pervading Waters – 9 Kodama
Pervading Waters is a main mission in Nioh 2. It’s suggested for players around level 74 and has a difficulty level of 4. In this mission, you will face both human enemies and yokai. Your task is to fight off the Saika mercenaries who are attacking Ishiyama Hoganji.
Kodama 1


From the second shrine, turn left and head toward the flooded path. Follow it all the way to the end, where there’s a house. Go inside, and you will find the first Kodama waiting there.
Kodama 2


From the second shrine, head up to the second floor of the large nearby building. Step out onto the balcony and check the corner. The Kodama is hiding behind some small boxes.
Kodama 3

Use the walkway connected to the large building near the second shrine to reach the rooftops. On the other side, drop down to the area where a Nure-Onna and a Gaki are roaming. Look at the left corner of the small building near the fence to find this Kodama.
Kodama 4


This Kodama is behind the house near the large building where you first fight the Ubume yokai. Go to the balcony, walk across the wooden planks toward the rooftop, then drop down behind the house. You will find the Kodama there.
Kodama 5


Near the shortcut back to the starting area, head down the slope toward a small shack where two soldiers are guarding. Take them out, then check the left side where several boats are stacked. The Kodama is hiding behind some crates in the corner.
Kodama 6

The sixth Kodama is on the west side of the bridge that leads to the pagoda courtyard. Head to the west section where you will encounter a Tesso. Go straight and walk along the narrow wooden path. You will find Kodama hiding behind a tree.
Kodama 7


From the third shrine, go right into the garden area. There’s a temple there, and just to the right of it you will see a small shrine. The Kodama is standing right next to that shrine.
Kodama 8

The eighth Kodama is easy to miss. Look behind a stone lantern on the right side of the walkway that leads to the pagoda entrance, where you fight Saika Magoichi.
Kodama 9


The final Kodama is found just before the true boss. First, defeat Saika Magoichi to get the key that unlocks the gate near the third shrine. Once the gate is open, head straight ahead, pass the Koroka and Gaki, and reach a destroyed building. Turn right and check the corner near some crates, the Kodama is hiding behind them.
The Frenzied Blaze – 8 Kodama
The Frenzied Blaze is a main mission in Nioh 2, recommended for level 60 and with a difficulty of 4. In this mission, you will face both human enemies and yokai as you work to rescue Lord Nobunaga from the burning Honnoji temple.
Kodama 1

In the very first area, where you fight your first few enemies inside a house and near a tree, turn left and walk around the corner of the house. You will reach a small dead end with a Gaki standing there. Defeat it, and you will find the Kodama hiding right behind it.
Kodama 2

The second Kodama is easy to spot. It’s standing next to a gate on the right side of the first Dark Realm area. This gate was being guarded by a Koroka, so check that spot after dealing with it.
Kodama 3

This Kodama is near the second shrine. After defeating the two Dwellers along the path, turn right and pass through the flames. You will encounter an Ubume on the other side. Once it’s defeated, climb the ladder nearby to reach the rooftops, where you will find the Kodama.
Kodama 4

Still near the second shrine, head to the nearby house. From the front entrance, walk around to the right side of the building. At the very end of the walkway, you will find another Kodama waiting there.
Kodama 5

Check the house on the left side of the area where you encounter Yasuke. Go inside and defeat the three yokai inside the house. After clearing the room, look in the right-hand corner to find the fifth Kodama.
Kodama 6

The sixth Kodama is hidden behind a Nurikabe wall. This wall is inside the house directly opposite the one where you found the fifth Kodama. There’s a walkway connecting the two houses, so use that to reach it. Deal with or pacify the wall to reach the Kodama.
Kodama 7

The seventh Kodama is inside the second Dark Realm. Go around the back of the house covered in blue flames. At the end, you will find a small garden where a Wheelmonk appears. If you have enough elixirs, you can run through the blue flames to reach the other side, where the Kodama is standing near the bamboo fences.
Kodama 8

The final Kodama for this mission is near the door that leads to the boss fight. Check the left-hand corner near the entrance, and you will find it hiding there.
The Sun Sets On Mount Tenno – 8 Kodama
The Sun Sets on Mount Tenno is a main mission in Nioh 2, recommended for level 66 and with a difficulty of 5. In this mission, you will face both human enemies and yokai as you infiltrate Mitsuhide’s stronghold to avenge the fallen Oda Nobunaga.

Starting from the first shrine, move through the swamp until you clear the misty area with the Nure-Onna. Once it’s gone, head up the small slope and immediately turn right. Look behind the tree there, and you will find the first Kodama.

Still near the first shrine, push into the second part of the swamp after dealing with the Nure-Onna blocking the way. Clear out the enemies, then head up the slope on the left to reach the scaffolding walkway. Walk over to the shack, go to the far left corner, and drop down from the platform. The Kodama is waiting below.
Kodama 3

Inside the first Dark Realm, climb up onto the scaffolding walkway. From there, head toward the platform on the left that circles around a tree. You will find the Kodama hidden behind it.
Kodama 4

From the second shrine, head into the rice fields. Look for a house with a plank leading up from the slope toward the fort. Use the plank to get onto the roof of the house, and you will find the Kodama up there.
Kodama 5

This one is in the southern part of the rice fields. From the second shrine, move around the rice fields toward the nearby house. Close to the shortcut door, you will see a path on the left. Follow it all the way to the end, and you will find Kodama waiting there.
Kodama 6

From the second shrine, jump down from the bridge that leads to the fort. Once you’re at the bottom, check the left side of the area. The Kodama is hiding behind a wooden barrier.
Kodama 7

From the second shrine, cross the bridge into the fort and turn right at the gate. Walk all the way to the end, where you will see a barn. Go around to the back of the barn on the right side, and you will spot the Kodama there.
Kodama 8


The final Kodama is inside the fort compound, in the building on the east side. To reach it, you will need to enter the underground area of the fort and find the ladder in the innermost eastern section. Climb up the ladder to reach the balcony, where the Kodama is waiting.
Twilight Region
Twilight is the fifth chapter in Nioh 2. This region has 25 Kodama to discover. Below is a list of all the Kodama locations in the area to help you find them.
Ruin Draws Near – 7 Kodama
Ruin Draws Near is a main mission in Nioh 2, recommended for level 72 with a difficulty of 4. In this mission, you will face both human enemies and yokai as you assist Shibata Katsuie and rescue Lady Oichi from the castle.
Kodama 1


Right after passing through the castle’s main gate from the first shrine, look to the right and climb the ladder onto the watchtower. There’s a chest up there, and the Kodama is hiding right behind it.

From the second shrine, head toward the east side. Climb the ladder and enter the room at the top. Turn left and check the corner where you will see small arrow crates. The Kodama is tucked away behind those crates.
Kodama 3

Still near the second shrine, go into the east-side building where you will run into an Onyudo and a Warrior Skeleton on the left. At the far end of that same side of the room, look for a cracked wall next to a door. Break the wall using a cannon-type ranged weapon or a bomb. Behind it, you will find the third Kodama.

From the second Dark Realm near the east building, head up to the top of the ramp. You will come across a house with a Tesso and an Aberrant Soldier inside. After defeating them, go through the corridor until you see a hole in the wooden floor. Drop down, then check behind the arrow crates in that room to find the Kodama.
Kodama 5

From the third shrine, leave the castle through the lower exit where you previously fought an Ippon-Datara. Outside, follow the path to a dead end. You will see the Kodama standing on a sack near a lootable corpse.
Kodama 6

This Kodama is hidden behind a Nurikabe wall. From the third shrine, head back inside the castle and climb down the ladder to the lower section. Go down the stairs and check underneath them. The fake wall in the left corner deals with it to access the secret room and find the Kodama.
Kodama 7

Also in the lower section of the castle, look for broken pillars in the middle of the room and use them to climb up to the top floor. Once you’re up there, turn left and jump down from the broken stairs. You will find the final Kodama waiting there.
The Two Faces of Hospitality – 7 Kodama
The Two Faces of Hospitality is a main mission in Nioh 2, recommended for level 91 with a difficulty of 5. In this mission, you will face both human enemies and yokai as you battle through Tokichiro’s army and put an end to him.
Kodama 1

Right at the start, near the first shrine, check the left corner of the entrance gate. The first Kodama is standing there, easy to spot if you look closely.
Kodama 2

From the courtyard near the first shrine, head into the bathhouse on the right the one with the hot spring inside. Go behind the door of the bathhouse, and you will find the second Kodama hiding there.
Kodama 3

At the second shrine, simply look behind you and check around the wooden pillar nearby. The third Kodama is tucked away right behind it.
Kodama 4

Near the area where you meet Honda Tadakatsu, there’s a ladder next to a cannon that leads down under the bridge. Walk forward from there, and you will see a wooden boat. The Kodama is standing right beside the boat.
Kodama 5

After clearing the second Dark Realm, you will reach an area filled with houses. There’s a gate ahead covered in yokai mist. On the right side of that gate, you will see a ladder, climb it to reach the watchtower. The fifth Kodama is up there.
Kodama 7

As you enter the courtyard that leads to the boss fight, look to the left for a room where a Rokurokubi appears. Go inside that room, and you will find the final Kodama waiting there.
The High-spirited Demon – 6 Kodama
The High-spirited Demon is a main mission in Nioh 2, recommended for level 94 with a difficulty of 5. In this mission, you will face both human enemies and yokai as you make your way to escape the battlefield at Komaki-Nagakute.

Right at the starting area, before you even head toward the first shrine, turn around and look under the wooden stairs. Check beneath the stair frame, and you will find the first Kodama hiding there.
Kodama 2

From the first shrine, head into the enclosed area covered by the Dark Realm where a large crystal is being guarded by a Biwa-Boku-boku and an Aberrant Soldier. After clearing the Dark Realm, walk around to the back of the enclosure from the right side. You will see a wooden barricade on the left break or go around it to find the Kodama behind it.
Kodama 3

From where you found the second Kodama, turn around and look for a tree branch you can walk across. Use it to reach the other side, where a Yoki is patrolling. From there, step onto the roof of the nearby house. The third Kodama is waiting on the rooftop.
Kodama 4

At the second shrine, defeat the Magatsu Warrior guarding the gate and open it. As soon as you go through, turn left. Break the crates you see there, and you will uncover the fourth Kodama hiding behind them.
Kodama 5

After clearing the third Dark Realm and defeating the Mezuki, head toward the tree near the bridge on the left, where the Mezuki was roaming. Go down to the base of the tree, defeat the three Kappa in the area, and then check behind the tree. You will find the fifth Kodama there.
Kodama 6


The final Kodama is found after defeating the Mezuki near the third Dark Realm. Walk up the slope nearby and look toward the middle of the path where a large crystal stands. Check the corner behind that crystal to find the last Kodama.
Stray Cats – 5 Kodama
Stray Cats is a sub-mission in Nioh 2, part of the Twilight Chapter. It’s recommended for level 86 and has a difficulty of 4. In this mission, you will face both human enemies and yokai as you track down and find three Scampuss yokai. This mission becomes available after completing the main mission, The High-spirited Demon.
Kodama 1

Right at the starting area, a Kodama is sitting behind you as soon as the mission begins.
Kodama 2

After talking to Hattori Hanzo, take the left path all the way to the end. You will find a Kodama sitting on the edge of a boat.
Kodama 3

Halfway up the hill on the left path from the start, check behind a wooden hut. The Kodama is hiding there.
Kodama 4

In the Dark Realm, where you pick up the jailer’s key, use the key to open the door leading to a big armoured skeleton with an axe. Defeat it to clear the Dark Realm, and the Kodama will appear in that same area.
Kodama 5

After you reach the starting point,you need to take the right up the hill. When you reach the top, drop down to a cliff below. You will find the Kodama sitting on the cliff.
Dream Region
Dream is the sixth chapter in Nioh 2. In this chapter, there are 25 Kodama to find. Below, you will find a list of all the Kodama locations to help you track them down.
The Mausoleum of Evil – 9 Kodama
The Mausoleum of Evil is a main mission in Nioh 2. It’s recommended for level 100 and has a difficulty of 5. In this mission, you will face yokai enemies as you explore Byodo-In to find a way to restore Sohayamaru.
Kodama 1


From the first shrine, go up the stairs all the way to the top until you reach a wooden bridge with an Aberrant Soldier nearby. Instead of crossing the bridge, drop down from the right edge. Turn left after landing, and you will spot the Kodama standing in the corner.
Kodama 2

This one is outside the temple on the east side. Look for a ladder on the east side of the building and climb it. Walk along the balcony to the very end, and you will find the Kodama waiting there.
Kodama 3

To reach this Kodama, you will first need to drain the water around the temple by placing the jewel into the dragon statue. Once the water is gone, go to the east side of the temple and look for a hole in the floor. Drop through it to reach the balcony below. Walk around the hole and step onto the outer edge of the balcony. Kodama is standing along that outer walkway.

From the second shrine, exit through the door on the left. You will run into a Dweller, defeat it and loot the corpse behind it. Then head into the nearby building with yokai mist inside. Defeat the Ubume, open the chest in the room, and step outside onto the balcony. The Kodama is right there.
Kodama 5

Near the second shrine, go down the stairs and drop into the room below. Defeat the Dweller inside and loot the small chest. Cross the bridge in the middle of the area and enter the room ahead. Shoot down the Nure-Onna hanging from the ceiling on the left, then look around the room to find the Kodama.
Kodama 6


From the area with the third large crystal, look across to the building on the opposite side. Go inside and drop down to the lower room where a Nure-Onna is waiting. Defeat it, then check the right-side corner of the room to find this Kodama.
Kodama 7

Head to the tower where the second Dark Realm is located. After defeating the Namahage, step outside toward the nearby door where the broken bridge is. Look to the right corner to find the Kodama. Once you collect it, head back inside and pull the lever to rotate the bridges in the tower.
Kodama 8


After pulling the lever, return to the upper part of the tower that leads to the hot spring. From the hot spring, walk to the left side of the balcony and follow the rooted path upward. At the very end of the path, you will find this Kodama. After grabbing it, jump down from the side. It’s a good idea to rest at the second shrine before continuing.
Kodama 9

The final Kodama is easy to miss. Just before entering the area that leads to the boss, check the left corner of the entrance. You will find Kodama standing there.
The Golden Castle – 8 Kodama
The Golden Castle is a main mission in Nioh 2. It’s recommended for level 105 and has a difficulty of 3. In this mission, you will face both human and yokai enemies as you steal the Spirit Stones at Jurakudai to help restore Sohayamaru.
Kodama 1

From the first shrine, go to the garden area and take out the Yoki hiding in the yokai mist on the right side. Once the yokai is defeated, check behind the mist the Kodama is hiding in the grass near the bamboo trees.
Kodama 2

After fighting the Enenra, head to the second level of the castle and enter the first Dark Realm. Once all the yokai are defeated and the crystal is destroyed, look behind the spot where the crystal was. Check the left corner among the rubble and debris, and you will find the second Kodama there.
Kodama 3

At the second shrine, enter the room with the large yellow crystal. On the right side of the room, where an Aberrant Soldier was, go to the far corner and you will see the third Kodama standing there.
Kodama 4

Head to the second garden section near the second Dark Realm. After defeating the yokai and dispelling the Dark Realm, check the pond where the Gaki was. The fourth Kodama is standing nearby, next to a tree.
Kodama 5

In the same garden area, look inside the room on the right near the path leading to the Yatsu-no-Kami painting. There’s a Nurikabe wall yokai here, and behind it is a basement room. Go inside the basement, and you will find the Kodama near the Spa (Hot Spring).
Kodama 6

Still in the garden section, head to the corridor walkway near the ladder that leads down to the underground storage room. Check the corner of the walkway, and you will spot the sixth Kodama.
Kodama 7

Before climbing the stairs that lead to the Kasha painting, look to your right. Behind the drapes, you will find the seventh Kodama hiding there.
Kodama 8

The last Kodama is in the room on the right side near the door that leads to the true boss of the mission. It’s tucked away there, waiting to be collected.
Cherry Blossom Viewing in Daigo – 8 Kodama
Cherry Blossom Viewing in Daigo is a mid-to-late game quest in Nioh 2, recommended for players around level 112 with a difficulty rating of 4. In this mission, you will be chasing after Tokichiro, fighting through a mix of human soldiers and dangerous yokai as you try to put an end to his growing control over the land.
Kodama 1

Before you head out, take a moment to check behind the tree near where the mission begins. You will find the first Kodama hiding there.
Kodama 2

As soon as you enter the castle area, two enemy soldiers will rush at you. Take them out first, then head to the tree on the left. The second Kodama is hiding there.
Kodama 3


Look to the right side of the walkway, near the stairs that go down to the garden. There’s a small room there check the outside corner of it, and you will find the third Kodama waiting there.
Kodama 4

Near the third shrine, step outside the temple and turn left at the doorway. Look around the corner, and you will spot the fourth Kodama standing beside a crystal.
Kodama 5

At the third shrine, follow the edge of the temple walkway. You will find the fifth Kodama waiting right at the end.
Kodama 6

After dealing with the Aberrant Soldier enemies, look for a building with some yokai mist inside. The sixth Kodama is hiding behind that building.
Kodama 7

To get the seventh Kodama, start by breaking the stone inside the Dark Realm. Then head back to the temple and follow the new root path outside. You will find the Kodama waiting at the very end of the path.
Kodama 8

Once you’ve destroyed the stone in the Dark Realm, keep going up the root path near the third shrine. You will run into the last Seven Spears soldier along the way. Check behind the tree on the left, and you will find the final Kodama there.
