The Bestiary of Khorinis is split among 5 books which are scattered through the valley and collecting all five unlocks important knowledge about the valley creatures and new craftables tied to Cavalorn’s quest. This guide will show exact locations of the 5 Bestiary books, where to search – caves, huts and hidden chests in orc territory so you won’t miss any.
Bestiary of Khorinis I
Head to the marked location shown on the map in the above image which is south from New Camp’s entrance. You’ll meet Jan at the settlement who also teaches hand to hand combat up to master level.
Enter his house while Jan is occupied with something like, for example, when he’s out fishing or otherwise distracted and you can find the Bestiary of Khorinis I on his table.
Bestiary of Khorinis II
For the next bestiary book, you need to make your way to the New Camp’s settlement and navigate to the marked hut shown in the above image which is Wolf’s hut.
Enter Wolf’s hut and you can find the Bestiary of Khorinis II on the table.
Bestiary of Khorinis III
To obtain the next bestiary book in series, you need to head inside the Orc Territory through the gate which is located on the southwest of Old Camp. But don’t worry as you only need to explore the borders of the orc territory.
Go through the gate and keep to the left, you’ll reach a narrow path between 2 hills. Following the narrow path leads to a hidden cave.
Head inside the cave and you can find the Bestiary of Khorinis III hidden inside a chest tucked at the very end of the cave.
Bestiary of Khorinis IV
The fourth installment of Bestiary books can be found in the Swamp Camp. Make your way to the marked location shown in the above map which is south of Swamp Camp beyond the swamps.
Search for an NPC called Shrat at the marked location, he lives alone away from the Swamp Camp. To reach his hut you can climb up the path beside a large tree located near his hut as shown in the above images.
You can find the Bestiary of Khorinis IV on the table inside Shrat’s hut.
Bestiary of Khorinis V
To get the final bestiary book you need to progress the main story up to Chapter 4 where you need to head inside Orc Territory to meet Xardas. You can find the Bestiary of Khorinis V on the round table at the top chamber of the Xardar Tower where you meet Xardas.
You can return to Cavalorn near the Old Camp and gather knowledge about different creatures of Gothic 1 Remake and unlock new craftables.
