To start finding the glyphs in Assassin’s Creed: Shadows, you need to start The Puzzlement quest and follow the new map marker north of Hanazono Castle. Once you start the quest and meet Kinu and Kane, you will get a special item that helps you track down each hidden glyph. In this guide, we will walk you through where to find every single glyph step-by-step, so you can unlock the secret Isu door and claim all the rare rewards inside.
‘A Puzzlement’ Quest in AC Shadows
To start finding glyphs, you first need to start The Puzzlement Quest. After that, open your map, and you will notice a new quest marker. Follow it to the area north of Hanazono Castle in southern Wakasa. When you arrive, talk to the two NPCs arguing there, Kinu and Kane.
All 13 Glyphs Locations
Kinu and Kane ask for your help with 13 riddles and give you a Riddle Scroll Beacon. You can equip this item from the Trinket section in your inventory. Once equipped, the beacon will make a sound whenever you are near a glyph, helping you figure out its location more easily.
Riddle of the Vault
After meeting with Kinu and Kane in the Omi region in Mount Hiei, you need to move towards the east. Here, you will find a water body. In between the water body, you will find the Riddle of the Vault on a rock.
Riddle of the Mists
In the Omi region, go towards Lake Biwa. In the middle of the lake, you will find a small island known as Okishima. At the edge of the island, you will find the Riddle of the Mists on a rock, just near the palace.
Riddle of the Lost
In the Ogura Pond in the Yamashiro region, move towards the east of the fast travel point. You will find the Riddle of the Lost on the cliff of the mountains. It can be difficult to find, as there will be many trees, so check the area carefully.
Riddle of the Ship
In the Shattered Coast of the Wakasa region, head towards the sea. You will find the Riddle of the Ship at the bottom of a mountain, on a rock near some trees.
Riddle of the Arch
Near the beach of Lake Suigutsu in the Wakasa region, you will find a small island near the Hiruga Bay. Head towards the rock, and you will find the Riddle of the Arch at the foot of the rock.
Riddle of the Sakura
Head towards the Eagle’s Nest in Yamazaki of the Yamashiro region. You will find the Riddle of the Sakura in the middle of the forest on a rock.
Riddle of Silence
Go towards the Tamba Highlands in the Tamba region. Head towards the north of the Path of Silence to find a waterfall on the lake. You will find the Riddle of Silence near a lantern on a rock.
Riddle of The Stone
Go towards the east of The Silver Lands in the Tamba region. In the middle of the forest, you will find a camp. The Riddle of the Stone can be found at the foot of the mountains.
Riddle of The Watchtower
Head towards the Sakamoto in the Omi region and head south of Mount Hiei. In the middle of the forest, you will find the Riddle of the Watchtower on a rock near some trees and bushes.
Riddle of The Sky
Go towards the Onyu pass in the Wakasa region, north of the Kuramadera Temple. Here, you will find the Riddle of the Sky on a rock near some trees.
Riddle of The Waterfall
Go to the south of Takashima Shores of the Omi region, and you will find a lake. At the edge of the lake, on the foot of the mountains, you will find the Riddle of the Waterfall.
Riddle of The Tide
Head towards Lake Biwa in the Omi region. At the edge of the mainland, you will find the riddle of the tide near the beach on a rock.
Riddle of The River
Go towards the south of Hikidan-Jo Ruins fast travel point, in Mount Uchinakao of the Wakasha region. You will find a river. At the edge of the river, you will find the Riddle of the River on a rock near some trees.
A Puzzlement Quest Rewards
Once you have collected all 13 glyphs, head back to the place where you first began the A Puzzlement quest. After helping Kinu and Kane, you would have seen a strange Isu Door appear there. Now that you have every glyph, that door will finally open.
Inside, you will find a bunch of special rewards waiting for you. There’s a clue for the Blade of Yumminess, its matching scabbard, and two powerful legendary weapons, the Isu-Forged Blade Tanto and the Isu-Forged Spear Naginata. You will also unlock a Statue of Kassandra cosmetic, along with two engravings: Strength of Atlantis and Wisdom of Atlantis.
