A Snake in the Garden Puzzle
A snake in the garden puzzle is located in Father Ventura’s office within the Apostolic Palace, as shown on the map below. To start this mystery, you will need to find a Mystery Note in Father Ventura’s office. You can get inside Father Ventura’s office without being noticed by any guard if you have a black shirt.
How to Reach Ventura’s Office
If you do not possess a black shirt, climb onto the rooftops above the Borgia Courtyards. From there, use the chapel under renovation to swing across the chandelier and climb the scaffolding. Once outside, you will see the rooftops extend to a high open window that leads into the palace. On the top floor, the main room has a long balcony, and several Blackshirts guards at the office entrance.
You will find one of the doors locked from the other side. You can either distract the guards or fight them to get through, or you can take a different route. Near the top of the stairs, you will find a window that leads to scaffolding above the Excavation Yard. Across the yard, there is matching scaffolding that leads to another balcony of Ventura’s office. Use your whip to swing over to the balcony quietly and without drawing attention.
Decode the Symbols
Once you are inside Ventura’s office, check the main desk for a suspicious note about a bookcase. The note says the bookcase has been redesigned, and the books “must be taken alphabetically.” Each book title is associated with a symbol:
- Francorum = Crown
- Logicae = Triangle
- QDC = Star
- Philosophiae = Wheel
Solve the puzzle
To solve the puzzle:
