How to Open the Box Blue Prince Trading Post Puzzle

If you’re looking to boost your daily income in Blue Prince, solving the Trading Post puzzle is a must. This tricky little box is hidden away behind a series of steps, but the reward, a permanent upgrade to your Allowance, is well worth the effort. Whether you’re just starting out or aiming to unlock every secret the game has to offer, this guide will walk you through how to find the Trading Post and exactly what to do to solve  the puzzle open. 

How to Find the Trading Post Puzzle

You can access the Trading Post by first obtaining the West Gate permanent upgrade. To do this, open the Garage doors after turning on the power in the Utility Closet. Once you step outside, follow the bridge to a shed, open its door, and you’ll be presented with three choices similar to those in Mt. Holly. One of these options is the Trading Post, where you can start trading for Blue Prince items.

How to Solve the Trading Post Puzzle

The Trading Post puzzle gives you a 3×3 grid of squares, each colored yellow, pink, or gray. To solve it, you’ll need to press the squares in a specific order:

  1. Middle row, far right
  2. Middle row, center
  3. Bottom row, center
  4. Top row, far left
    5–7. Middle row, far left (press this three times)
  5. Middle row, center
  6. Top row, center
    10–12. Middle row, far left (three more times)
  7. Middle row, center
    14–15. Middle row, far left (two more times)
  8. Bottom row, center
    17–19. Middle row, far left (three more times)
  9. Finally, press all four triangle buttons in the corners—order doesn’t matter

The goal is to move the yellow squares to each corner and place the pink square in the far left spot of the middle row. Once everything’s in the right position, hitting the four triangle buttons will complete the puzzle. The box will open to reveal a new item grab it to earn the Allowance Token, which permanently increases your daily Allowance to two coins.
