How to Setup a Barn After Recent Patch in Schedule 1

With the recent patch in Schedule 1, fully automated cocaine production in your barn is a matter of a few tweaks. This guide takes you through an optimal post-patch barn configuration that balances automation, space efficiency, and worker assignments. Whether you like an additional botanist for quicker turnaround on leaves or a cleaner to maintain cleanliness in operations, the configuration is customizable to suit your playstyle. Adhere to this step-by-step format and worker routing system to achieve maximum output while maintaining everything in working order.

How to Setup a Barn

This configuration tries for a fully mechanized and optimal cocaine producing assembly line for your barn. Make sure to change according to preference (cleaner vs. bonus botonist) and available real estate.

Employees:

  • Botanists: 4 (each takes care of 6 pots and 2 drying racks)
  • Handlers: 2 (one for pressing bricks, both for shifting mixer stock)
  • Chemists: 4

Building Setup (Efficient Layout with Extra Botonist):

  1. Storage Racks:
    • 26 storage racks in total.
    • 2 are for overflow of soil and fertilizer.
    • These are followed by racks for cocoa seeds.
    • 8 racks are specifically for mixers (can be manually filled initially).
    • The remaining are for extra storage.
  2. Growing Area (Two Sections of 6 Pots Each):
    • Place 6 moisture-preserving pots in a line.
    • Behind them, place 2 storage racks.
    • Leave a one-square gap and place another line of 6 pots.
    • Above each line of pots, place 6 suspension racks and 6 full-spectrum lights.
    • Leave a one-square gap at the end of each pot line.
    • Place 4 drying racks in a row behind the gap. The AI can walk through the suspension rack poles.
  3. Cooking and Mixing Area:
    • Place two cauldrons facing outwards with one space behind them (between pillars).
    • Place two lab ovens next to the cauldrons.
    • Place mixing stations: two side-by-side, then a lamp with one space, another mixing station, and repeat. The last mixing station is placed sideways against a pillar.
    • Place a brick press next to the last mixing station.
    • Behind each mixing station, place a large storage rack. The one behind the brick press will store finished cocaine bricks.
    • Place lamps strategically in the corners and beside storage racks.
  1. Barn Nest Expansion (for the extra botonist setup):
    • Pick up the 4 drying racks.
    • Create a space and place two rows of 6 pots each, similar to the first setup.
    • Place 10 drying racks with a small space in between them.
    • Place a storage rack (20 soil, 30 fertilizer, 30 cocoa seeds) at the end.

Worker Assignment and Task Routing:

  1. Botonists:
    • Assign each of the five botonists to two drying racks each (gold star quality).
    • Assign each botonist to manage the 6 pots associated with their drying racks (Cocoa Seed, Additive, Fertilizer).
    • Set the destination of the harvested cocoa leaves from the pots to their assigned drying racks. Ensure the worker’s picture aligns with the assigned racks.
  2. Handlers:
    • Handler 1 (Brick Pressing):
      • Assign to the brick press.
      • Create routes from each of the five storage racks behind the mixing stations to their respective mixing stations.
      • Create a route from the brick press to the storage rack behind it.
    • Handler 2 (Mixer Stock):
      • Create routes from the storage racks behind the mixing stations to each of the mixing stations.
      • Create one final route from the last mixing station to the brick press.
  3. Chemists:
    • Assign the first chemist to operate the two cauldrons. Designate the destination of four storage racks to the first cauldron and four drying racks to the second cauldron.
    • Put the second chemist in lab ovens. Destination of four drying racks is set to lab oven and four storage racks to lab oven.
    • Assign the third chemist to lab ovens. Designate the four drying racks to go to lab oven and four storage racks to lab oven.
    • Open all storage racks at the back of the mixing stations, put the threshold to 10, and leave the destination blank. This enables chemists to focus on mixing.

Important Notes:

  • Moisture Pots: The guide recommends moisture-preserving pots for less downtime, sacrificing a small amount of growth speed.
  • Cleaner: You can opt for a cleaner instead of the extra botonist. This involves placing dustbins strategically and adjusting storage rack placement.
  • Gasoline: Cauldrons use gasoline slowly (one every 7-8 in-game hours), so manual refilling every 1-2 in-game weeks is sufficient.
  • Supply Racks: Set up supply racks for each botonist with extra soil, fertilizer, and cocoa seeds for easy refilling.
  • Mixer Ingredients: The recommended cocaine recipe is Motor Oil, Cuke, Paracetamol, Gasoline, Cuke, Battery, Horse Seamen, and Mega Bean.
