South of Midnight – All Chapter 2 Collectibles Locations

Chapter 2 of South of Midnight features 7 collectibles: 2 Magic Objects, 4 Readables, and 1 Storybook. While the Magic Object and Storybook are obtained automatically during story progression, you’ll need to manually find the 3 remaining Readables. The walkthrough below will guide you to each of their locations.

Readables Collectibles: Weaver’s Call

Begin by heading down the path toward the river. When you reach the dead end, use the “Strands” ability to reveal the way forward. Climb the rock ahead and move through a hollow log on the left—it stands out in the thick surroundings. This is where Chapter 2’s collectibles, including key Readables and Floof, start to show up, so stay alert. Hazel will eventually reach a wooden footbridge that’s blocked. Drop down to a lower, unobstructed path and keep moving forward to progress.

After leaving the wooden footbridge, drop down into a dense forest area. Make your way through the thorns, keeping an eye out for white paint markings—these signal safe crossing points along the path. Hazel will soon come across an infested area crawling with enemies. Clear them out, then interact with the “Stigma” to cleanse and heal the land—an action that highlights the deeper narrative themes of Other Voices, Other Looms.

Continue along the river path, using the Strand to lead you to a fairy tale-like old well. Climb down into it and explore the tunnels beneath to discover the spinning wheel. This moment is key for Chapter 2 collectibles, as the Distaff Magic Object awaits inside.

After an intense cutscene at the spinning wheel, follow the ghostly figures along the riverbank. Take the same route they do—climb the rocks and interact with the “Stigma” at the top. This is a crucial point in Chapter 2, where upgrading Hazel’s abilities, such as strengthening her bond with “Floof,” becomes increasingly important. Head into the abandoned settlement just ahead.

Inside the first house on the left, you’ll find the first of four Readables collectibles: The Weaver’s Call. Hidden treasures like this enrich the mystery of Other Voices, Other Looms and offer deeper insight into the game’s lore.

Readables Collectibles: Spirits, Speak to Me! & Please Speak to Me…

Hazel soon spots the ghosts darting into a house within the settlement, but the front door is blocked, forcing her to find another way inside. Climb the nearby hill and use the overhanging log to reach the roof and drop down. Inside, you’ll find another Magic Object—a spindle. This key collectible in South of Midnight Chapter 2 grants Hazel the power to reimagine and recreate objects from the past. With this newfound ability, the gameplay becomes more dynamic, deepening the immersive experience of Other Voices, Other Looms.

Once Hazel acquires the spindle, she can bring forgotten or broken objects back into existence. Exit the house and use this power to interact with the environment—start by summoning a table to cross a once-inaccessible area. This skill also allows you to reconstruct the nearby broken bridge, clearing the path for Hazel to continue her pursuit of the ghosts. Before following them, explore behind the house—there’s a hidden Floof that you can now access using the spindle’s power.

After crossing the bridge, Hazel enters another infested area overrun with thorns and a deadly Haint. Prepare for an intense battle—use your full arsenal of Strand abilities to defeat the enemies. Afterward, interact with the “Stigma” to heal the corrupted land, reinforcing the chapter’s core themes of restoration and renewal in Other Voices, Other Looms.

Once the threat is neutralized, follow the ghostly trail into a tall, grassy field. As you move through the area, use Hazel’s Strand abilities to flip metal sheets—each one reveals a Floof, rewarding exploration and enhancing the sense of wonder that defines this chapter. Flip the first metal sheet with “Strand Push” to unlock the Finder’s Keepers Trophy. Another sheet lies to the right, each revealing more Floofs to collect.

Next, locate a cart near the field. Use Strand Push to move it into position—it acts as a platform for Hazel to climb onto a small house. Drop down on the other side to find a large round building with a conical roof. Break through the gate here using Strand Push and explore the interior to uncover another Floof hiding in plain sight. From here, the path slopes uphill, leading to a major encounter with another Haint. Defeat it and cleanse the thorn-covered Stigma, opening the way to a nearby barn.

Inside the barn, a brief cutscene reveals the ghost manipulating a crate. Use Strand Pull and Push to reposition it beneath a climbable ledge on the right. Before climbing through the upper window, check the barrel nearby—Hazel will find the second of four Readables collectibles, Spirits, Speak to Me! This item adds further depth to the chapter’s lore and the world of Other Voices, Other Looms.

Readables Collectibles: Please Speak to Me…

After exiting through the window, Hazel will face another Haint encounter. Once the area is clear, head toward the mine entrance where ghostly figures linger above. Before going in, look to the left—use Strand Push to clear the overgrowth and reveal a hidden nook containing both a Floof and the third of four Readables collectibles, Please Speak to Me…

Readables Collectibles: Stigma and Sorrow

After collecting the Readables collectible Please Speak to Me…, return to the mine entrance. Use Hazel’s Strand Push to break through the barricade, then activate Strand Pull to move the nearby cart into position beneath a damaged bridge. This clever use of Hazel’s abilities allows you to cross to the other side, emphasizing one of the core mechanics of South of Midnight Chapter 2.

Slide down the cave slope and follow the narrow passage until you spot a symbol painted on the wall. This mark leads you to the fourth and final Readables collectible: Stigma and Sorrow. Be sure to examine it closely—it offers valuable insight into the narrative of Other Voices, Other Looms and helps piece together Hazel’s evolving story.

To push deeper into the chapter’s intricate environment, use Strand Push to remove the roots blocking the tunnel. Once cleared, follow the path into the depths of Other Voices, Other Looms. At the end of the tunnel, you’ll face a large gap—use Hazel’s “Weave” ability here to construct a bridge and continue forward, revealing a vast underground cave.

Keep an eye out for white markings on walls and rocks, which help guide Hazel through the winding passages. Along the way, you’ll need to use the Weave ability multiple times to create paths and progress through the cavern. Be sure to collect the glowing Floof in this area—these important collectibles not only enrich exploration but also enhance Hazel’s abilities, making them vital to your journey through South of Midnight Chapter 2.
