In the enchanting world of “Split Fiction,” a heartwarming puzzle awaits in the Underlands, where a family of birds faces a unique predicament: their baby is trapped within an unhatched egg, and the path forward is sealed by impenetrable brambles. To move ahead, you’ll need to start a charming mission, using Mio and Zoe’s combined forces to stage the ideal timed high-speed crash to break the egg and open up the path. This walkthrough will guide you through the exact maneuvers required to put the bird family back together again and resume playing.
How To Reach The Underlands Bird Egg
You’ll come across a pair of worried bird parents and their baby, who’s still stuck inside its unhatched egg. The path ahead is blocked until you help the family hatch their little one. To do that, you’ll need to follow a series of steps that ultimately send a log flying at high speed to crack the egg and free the baby.
How To Hatch The Underlands Bird Egg
When you reach the area with the baby birds and the unhatched egg, have Mio switch to her gorilla form. To the right of the birds, there’s a small plateau, head up there, then jump and grab onto the pink flowers hanging beneath a suspended log. Move across to the connecting log to lower it.
Once you’re back on the ground, pick up the unhatched egg and carry it to the seesaw-style launching platform near the bramble blocking your path. You’ll notice another nest there, place the egg inside.
Next, have Zoe transform into a tree and connect to the flower on the wall closest to the baby birds. From there, she can link to the log Mio just lowered and pull it back as far as it goes.
Now, have Mio (still in her gorilla form) stand on the opposite end of the launching platform, across from the egg. Use her ground pound ability to launch the egg into the air. At the same time, have Zoe release the log, if the timing is right, the log will swing forward and smash the egg into the bramble, clearing the path. As a bonus, the egg will break, freeing the baby bird inside and reuniting it with its family.
