Throne and Liberty Doomrot Grove Dungeon

The Doomrot Grove is a high-level dungeon in the Dimensional Circle, ranked at +++ difficulty, the toughest co-op dungeon currently available in Throne & Liberty. To enter, players need to be at least level 55.

Best Team Composition for the Doomrot Grove

Here’s a quick breakdown of the key roles and weapon combos for taking on the Doomrot Grove dungeon and the final boss, Norn Bercant:

Tank – Greatsword / Sword and Shield

  • Weapon Combo: The Sword and Shield lets you taunt enemies and hold their attention, while the Greatsword adds extra durability.
  • Dungeon Role: Your job is to pull mob aggro, keeping enemies focused on you so your team can deal damage safely.
  • Norn Bercant Role: Keep the boss’s aggro locked on you, steering Norn Bercant away from your teammates.

DPS – Dagger / Crossbow

  • Weapon Combo: This pairing offers a great balance of mobility and steady damage output, perfect for DPS players.
  • Dungeon Role: Focus on clearing mobs and destroying the tree during the first miniboss fight.
  • Norn Bercant Role: Your main job is to deal as much damage to the boss as possible. Since DPS players are often the ones marked by Norn Bercant for certain mechanics, knowing the boss’s moves is key to survival.

Healer – Wand / Staff

  • Weapon Combo: The Wand and Staff combo provides powerful burst heals, healing zones, and cleansing abilities.
  • Dungeon Role: Keep your team alive by healing through damage spikes and removing harmful effects.
  • Norn Bercant Role: Prioritize maintaining your team’s health and purging any poison the boss casts on your group.

Every position has a vital role in defeating this dungeon, tanks manage the chaos, DPS drive the battle, and healers keep them all alive. It’s all about teamwork.

First Area

At the start of the dungeon, head through the hole in the wall and use your Glide Morph to descend. You’ll find yourself in a series of narrow corridors filled with traps. These traps fire projectiles in a straight line every few seconds, and they hit hard, getting caught by two or more can be fatal. Watch for the traps glowing red, that’s your cue they’re about to fire, and time your movements carefully to avoid getting hit.

Eventually, you’ll enter a room with four mobs. They aren’t too tough, the tank should grab their attention while the DPS players take them down. However, the traps in this room are still active, so keep an eye out for red telegraphs and dodge them.

Next, you’ll go through another set of narrow corridors, this time with even more traps. You’ll come across new ones, like poison circles and holes in the ground that deal damage if you fall in. If you ever get turned around, just follow the glowing blue light at the end of each corridor, it points the way forward. After a few more corridors, you’ll reach another room with some easy mobs. Clear them out, navigate past a few more traps, and you’ll finally arrive at the first boss.

Thorny Vine Gatekeeper

The first boss in the Doomrot Grove Dungeon is the Thorny Vine Gatekeeper. It’s a fairly straightforward fight with just a few mechanics to watch out for:

  • Sweeping Slash – The boss unleashes a wide attack in front of it, hitting anyone in the cone. DPS and Healers should stay behind the boss to avoid getting hit.
  • Vine Grip – It will occasionally pull ranged players toward the center, so be ready to reposition quickly.
  • Rage Strikes – The boss goes into a frenzy, dealing heavy attacks that you need to block with your defensive skills to avoid taking too much damage.

Second Area

After defeating the first boss, you’ll move through more narrow corridors packed with traps. The exploding poison circles are much more frequent now, so time your movements carefully to avoid getting caught in the blasts. You’ll soon reach another room with some easy mobs, but don’t let your guard down. The poison traps are still active, so keep an eye on your surroundings while fighting.

More trap-filled rooms follow, along with another set of basic mobs. As you move through the next set of corridors, you might hit what seems like a dead end. Look up to your left, there’s a grapple point. Use it to pull yourself up to the next area.

The next room is a large square, divided into four sections by line traps. Each section also contains a few exploding poison traps. It might look complicated at first, but it’s just another simple mob fight, the traps are just laid out a bit differently. From there, you’ll face more traps and mobs in the following room, then push through a couple more corridors. At the end, there’s another grapple point. Once you climb up, you’ll be able to jump down into the next boss room.

Thorny Vine Witch

The second boss in the Doomrot Grove Dungeon is the Thorny Vine Witch.

Here’s a quick rundown of her mechanics and attacks:

  • Venom Barrage – The Thorny Vine Witch hurls a flurry of poisonous projectiles. Time your block carefully to deflect the incoming poison.
  • Poison Orbs – She regularly throws poison orbs at the player holding aggro. This should be the tank, as the poison can deal serious damage to more fragile players.

Once you defeat the Thorny Vine Witch, use your grapple to climb out of the dungeon. Head up the stairs, and you’ll reach the courtyard, the stage for the final boss fight.

How to Beat Norn Bercant

The final boss in the Doomrot Grove Dungeon is Norn Bercant, a powerful Wildkin with a few tricky mechanics. Here’s what to watch out for:

  • Poison Traps – Norn Bercant spawns poison traps under players, which explode after a short delay. If you see one forming beneath you, move away quickly. It’s best not to stack together, so spread out during the fight.
  • Tree Wall – Norn Bercant marks four players, who must stand in a cross formation facing the boss. After a brief delay, wooden walls will grow on those players, ideally boxing the team inside with Norn Bercant. These walls protect you from the next phase – a wave of thorns that sweep in from the edges of the arena. Good positioning is key to surviving this.
  • Raging Strikes – Norn Bercant unleashes a series of fierce attacks targeting players. You can dodge these by using a defensive skill while staying on the move.
  • Skyward Toss – The boss launches players into the air while five turrets lock onto highlighted zones on the ground. Glide down to avoid fall damage, and steer clear of the marked areas to dodge incoming attacks.
  • Venomous Surge – Norn Bercant casts a large AOE poison attack that covers the entire arena. You can avoid the damage by timing your jump to leap over the spreading circle as it closes in.

Stay alert, watch your positioning, and work together, taking down Norn Bercant is the final step to conquering the Doomrot Grove Dungeon!
